EQUIPMENT
Original Motorola 112/114 radio with electric ariel and twin speakers. Retractable driver and passenger safety belts. Original car jack. Three spoke brass hub remover with "soft" metal hammer in jack bag. Original tool roll.

EXTERIOR
The body work on this particular example is hard to fault. emitting a deep and even shine all-round. The Signal red coach work compliments the lines and voluptuous curves of this iconic shape perfectly. The chrome work is in good condition with no visible signs of pitting and only a small degree of age related patina which does not detract in any way.

The E-type is presented with period number plates that are unmarked. The green tint windscreen is pristine and the remaining glass of a very high standard. The exhaust. a stainless system which exists via twin tail pipes is extremely sound with no sign of wear or corrosion. emitting a fabulous tone.

INTERIOR
The interior of this Jaguar is a wonderful place to enjoy one of the best views in motoring. as you look out across the double louvered bulging bonnet it stretches away into the distance. The black leather perforated seats with headrests and adjustable backs do not hug the torso like some modern sports cars but are surprisingly supportive and comfortable even after the longest journey and are ideal for the taller driver. While the internals (diaphragms and supportive padding) have been renewed. the leather coverings are original and retain their authenticity and display a wonderful patina that can not be reproduced.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The highly regarded E-Type specialist engineers at Winspeed Motorsport Ltd have only recently completed a £12. 00 fully documented complete removal. strip-down and subsequent re-build.

Having covered less than 100 miles since these major works and as before. the engine enjoys a turbine-like power delivery with a huge amount of torque from any speed. The engine is quiet and refined while at idle and around town. however. when provoked the true nature of the Jaguar pins the driver back in the seat and propels you at a surprising pace.

The Borg-Warner developed. 3 speed automatic gearbox has benefited from constant high levels of maintenance for many years and operates without fault. The gearbox and torque converter were stripped out and re-built at 62. 11.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
The Jaguar sits on five bright chrome wire wheels which remain unmarked. The front wheels are shod in a pair of Dunlop SP Sport Super D7 205/70/VR 15 Radials. still showing 4-5mm of tread. The rears are Pirelli P4000 205/70ZR 15 Super touring (less than 500 miles of road use) with 5mm plus of tread.

The brakes are ventilated discs all round. The car received a brake overhaul at 82. 69 miles including calipers. pads and discs. cylinder and shuttle valve. The last fluid change was carried out at 83. 54 miles in October 2011.

HISTORY FILE
The E-type was first registered 2nd February 1972. This Series III coupe was purchased by the one and only owner Mr Nickells from Wadham Stringers of Guildford. This well known local E-Type could often be seen at trade fairs and county shows and became synonymous with the oil distribution business. Lovingly cared for in the early years by none other than John Coombs own mechanic Eddie Best and latterly his partner David Hussey at the prestigious Axtell Automobile Associates Ltd. Bramley. Fondly remembered by Eddie as "one of the best and fastest Jaguars I have ever driven. "

A large and detailed history folder documents this wonderful car's progress through the last four decades. with a hand written log from day one to April 27th 1990. which lists all items from services to battery and wiper blade replacements.

Thirty previous MOT certificates and a selection of tax discs. cuttings. photographs. magazine articles and the original radio instruction manual are all present. A recent engine rebuild and light restorations count for receipts totalling approximately £15. 00. Other substantial expenditure during the 1990's at Brian Stevens Jaguar Specialist in Hampshire account for sums of £13. 00.

The Jaguar has been regarded and treated as a cherished family member. owned from new so many years it is with great sadness she is now on the market for the first time since February 1972. It is very rare to find an E-Type that has had the correct amount of investment and maintenance by just the one owner and also having the major benefit of a complete engine rebuild. It is now ready for the next lucky owner to enjoy for many years to come.
