Seller's notes: "Extremely RARE 1938 Cadillac LaSalle 4dr Convertible sedan. 1 of 5 remaining. Only 1 other offered for sale over past 3 years,it was $65,000 unfinished! Mid-1930s convertible sedans are generally offered at $75,000 to $150,000+;the build quality & rarity DO warrant such prices. I do need to sell my 1938 Cadillac Lasalle as soon as possible due to health reasons, so I will accept basically "HALF PRICE" for a quick sale. It runs well with it's healthy original V8 engine(recent tuneup & rebuilt carb, rebuilt starter, new battery, wires, coil, cap, rotor, points, filters, and many other new parts) I was driving it 2 years ago,now from sitting the clutch release plate got stuck, so you must go under there to free this up and drive it again & It needs to rebuild the steering box($300 for rebuild+install),I was turning the steering wheel too strongly while car was still,it messed the bearings in steering box,so if you just do these 2 things you can drive the car soon!!! It is very rare SOLID Beauty!"

Extremely RARE 1938 Cadillac LaSalle 4dr Convertible sedan.

(This is one of only 250 produced and is presently 1 of the remaining 4 or 5 left in existance!)

Only 1 other offered for sale over past 3 years at $65. 00 (it was unfinished!) These mid-1930's  Luxury "convertible sedans" are generally offered at $60. 00 to $150. 00+; the build quality & rarity DO warrant such prices (this one is extremely rare with only 5 extant. )

I do need to sell my 1938 Cadillac Lasalle convertible as soon as possible due to health reasons; so. I will accept much less than the $40. 00-$50. 00 for a museum car like this. in order to make it a quick sale. It runs well with it's healthy original Cadillac V8 engine(recent tuneup & rebuilt carb. rebuilt starter. new battery. wires. oil. ap. rotor. oints. ilters. and many other new parts) I was driving it last about 2 years ago. now from sitting the clutch release plate won't release . so you must go under there free this up to drive it again; It also needs a rebuild of the steering box ($300 for the rebuild+install). I was turning the steering wheel too strongly while car was standing still and messed up the bearings in steering box. so if you just do these 2 things you can drive the car again!!! Good tires. ndercoated rustfree underbody. a frame & body built like a tank! Solid body. nbsp;2yr. old black paint. buffed to beautiful shine in the fall (original color "black". this car arrived to me in another factory available color "YELLOW" as you can see in 2 photos. it does look good & sporty in the yellow. but we thought that it was best in the original gloss black). You can redo the interior in the original brown or in black to have the Lasalle in triple black!  Elegant Dual side mounted spares (I love side mounts and THAT was the selling feature the sold me on this car! The long nose/long hood and the side mounts! Other cosmetic enjoyable features are the beautiful grill. pontoon fenders. bullet headlights. nbsp;running boards. Chrome ZEPPLIN hood ornament which pulls up to open hood! I also have fender skirts. It ofcourse has the Large & powerful ORIGINAL Cadillac V8 engine( while it had a V8 many other marques had the lesser straight 8 or straight 6!) As large as it is. It was considered Cadillac's sporty series The Cadillac LaSalle model 50 & 52.   For about $1000. a grand you'll have it back driving on the road; for just a few thousand you can have the interior redone. rechrome some parts. tc to be presentable and drive to shows.   I have spent many thousands over the past few years. this car is so rare. so beautiful that it is worth every dollar spent! You will not find another. as I mentioned previously that in 3 years looking there was only one other up for sale at about $65. 00 unfinished!

With only a handful in existance it is a car worthy of any car museum and will certainly be the rarest & most beautiful at nearly every car show.

Look carefully at the photos. there are not many cars where you can say without hesitation that it looks gorgeous from EVERY angle. from the front/nose angle you have the magnificent dual sidemounts . ornate grill. pontoon fenders with bullet headlights. Zepplin hood ornament & split windshield. super look! From the side view you have the LONG HOOD/long nose with long side hood chrome vents. beautiful new black canvas convertible top. running boards. pontoon fenders. chrome hubcaps & beauty rings. and last but not least. From the REAR VIEW you have another amazing view which basically looks like it was a custom hotrod with the tall black body and the amazingly small oval rear window in the beautiful black canvas top. another great angle! They designed the car to be a beauty from every angle. it was supposed to be Cadillac's sporty line!

Well. as you can tell I do still love the car and will always consider it one of the most cosmetically beautiful that I have owned.   I have a 1937 Cord Beverly(which will be one of the last to sell) and I put this LaSalle on the same level for beautiful design.  You can see in the photos next to the LaSalle my Rolls Silver Spur & the rare 1970 Mercedes 6. 3 both sold a few months ago and now this 1938 Cadillac LaSalle will go to a new loving owner or museum.  I do need to sell it as soon as possible and have picked up in the next few weeks. Some extra parts are included in the trunk and some truly beautiful original sales literature in original envelope. shop manual. some other ephemera/literature. and owners manual.   I will put a very low Buy It Now price.   Thank you!

TRULY MAGNIFICENT ART DECO DESIGN.  A BEAUTIFUL and EXTREMLY RARE CAR!

ONLY "A HANDFUL". (only 4 or 5) of the 250 Cadillac Lasalle Convertible Sedan's made are known to still exist!

"BUY IT NOW" is a bargain. so that we'll have a quick sale. . I have spent alot more than this on the car over the past years. I do understand that you will still need to spend on further restoration but you will have a VERY rare. museum worthy $100. 00+ convertible.

This 1938 Cadillac Lasalle convertible is for sale AS IS. WHERE IS.   I have described it to the best of my knowledge as a fellow collector who also loves these cars. and as always recommend to come to see it in person if possible.   I have 1400+ positive feedback from 15 years on ebay!  I forgot the actual mileage but I am pretty sure it was somewhere between 50. 00-60. 00 +/- . could be in the high 40. 00's but in any case it is reasonable and not high! The car was put away in a rental garage for the winter which is far from my home. so that is why I can't run out to check the odometer. If it very important to you I can ask someone to go there and check. Thank you.

To be picked up within about 2 weeks or less (if possible) in Merrick LI NY 11566. PAYMENT IN FULL WITHIN 7 DAYS. $500 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT WITHIN 24 HOURS FULL PAYMENT CAN BE either OVERNIGHTED BANK CHECK OR BANK FUNDS TRANSFER. TITLE/NYS Transferable Registration & all literature WILL BE SENT AFTER PAYMENT RCVD AND CLEARED.

THANK YOU for your consideration!
