Seller's notes: "This is a very rare Amphicar, It runs well and I had mechanic go over it, it shifts and the propellers move as normal, it needs a new clutch which is about $350+ installation (THIS is the hard part, my mechanic is 75 yrs old and can not do the clutch so I did not do that BUT for a young healthy mechanic installing the new clutch (readily available on ebay and from Gordons Amphicar parts) would not be a big deal THEN you can drive the car and theoretically use as a boat (after you put new rubber seals first!) It is reltively straight but needs to put rear lower 1/4 panels (ALL Amphicars trap water in there and need this done!) It is a few hundred dollars for the ready to install metal panels. And it needs a new convertible top which is about $25 on ebay. Otherwise you have a very good solid Amphicar with a nice original interior! These were made from 1962-1968 and only about 3000 were made, few still around! I bought this last year from a fellow in California. These sell for $100,000+"

RARE 1967 AMPHICAR 770 CONVERTIBLE from California BOAT +CAR RUNS! MUST SELL for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.15) based on 723 votes
Rare 1967 Amphicar convertible model 770 Amphibious BOAT/CAR.  I do need to sell my Amphicar as soon as possible due to health reasons;  so. in order to make it a quick sale. /strong> I will accept much less than the $30. 00 which I think it is presently worth . They bring over $100. 00 when fully restored. /strong> you will often see them for sale at $75. 00 on average for a nice one. In 1999. in California it was still registered and being used as a boat in the water and driving on the road as a car!!! It still runs well & propellers turn properly =  with it's healthy original engine & transmissions (recent tuneup & rebuilt carb. nbsp;new battery. tuneup. ilters. and other new parts) It needs a new clutch which is readily available for $350 on ebay or Gordon's parts (I was told that from sitting the clutch plate won't release); It needs a rear shock absorber on the passenger side.   It needs a new vinyl top. rubber seals. nbsp;but does come with boot cover.  Comes with various other parts in 2 big boxes in the trunk! It may need more bits here or there. I AM SELLING IT AS-IS WHERE IS. I am describing it to the best of my knowledge as a fellow collector and I do tell you that there is certainly many things to still do before driving it into a lake anytime soon! The good news is that you do have a very good healthy low mileage engine & transmissions and I have recently spent a few thousand dollars to have the mechanic go over things under the hood & lights .  It also needs repair of the typical rust areas that ALL Amphicars get by design flaw (EVEN one that has been garaged in California for over 20 years! Indiana Airforce base stickers before California) The rear 1/4's trap water back there but again EASILY. READILY available for about $300 per lower 1/4 sections I priced the parts and planned to have it done and then repaint the car but my health has not been good. I don't have the energy to continue the restoration so I will sell it for many thousands less just to have it sold and picked up quickly! Very neat boat/car that is also a convertible with big tail fins. and whitewall tires! I have always loved 1950's & 1960's cars with big fins and have had many Cadillacs. and convertibles are always a good investment.   You have a very nice all original  Black & White interior & dash! Comes with clear California title. The Amphicar ONLY HAS 15. 28 actual miles!!!Please use BUY IT NOW if you have all funds ready to complete the deal. Thank you! You can use the BUY IT NOW if you are ready to buy and don't want to risk losing it to another buyer. This 1967 AMPHICAR 770 amphibious boat/car CONVERTIBLE is for sale AS IS. WHERE IS.  I have described it to the best of my knowledge as a fellow collector who also loves these cars. and as always recommend to come to see it in person if possible.  I have 100% Positive feedback from 16 years on Ebay. nbsp; while I do not sell things very often clearly other buyers have been very satisfied through the years with any car or antiques that I have parted with from my collection. I have always looked for cars that were very rare or unusual and have positive attributes. This Amphicar is both very rare as a most unusual BOAT & CAR in one; and quite valuable as they are bringing over $100. 00 when properly finished. So this is a good investment car.  If you win this auction Please have it picked up within 10 days or less( if possible). $500 non-refundable Deposit immed. with Balance due withing 7 days or sooner. Bank Check. nbsp;Cash or Bank wire Transfer. Includes 2 full boxes of parts (not shown) Car previously belonged to R. L. Jennings & Mr. Trumbull; comes with clear open California Title. Thank you!
