JAGUAR 1994 XJ 12 5000k YES 5000k FROM NEW

A brief history of the car what we know so far:- (if anybody knows anything more about this car could you please email as it would be very helpful).

The reason why the car has 5000k. I contacted the first owner of the car who very kindly rang me back saying when the car was 3 months old he had an accident on a narrow road in Kent where a coal lorry reversed out in front of him and caught the side of the car doing light damage to the front wing. A post and two doors. It went to Barretts of Canterbury to be repaired where it was purchased from. nbsp;at that time it only had 3000k on the clock. Whilst it was in being repaired. the interior. two doors and the dash board had to be removed to repair the A post. When the interior was in storage Barretts had a fire which destroyed  all the interior. nbsp;consequently with the new interior and the cost of repair the car became an insurance argument between Barretts insurance and the cars insurance company.   This information came from the initial owner of the car. There is more to this story  as the first owner sued the garage and the insurance company so then bought a new Jaguar XJ12 and tells me he still owns a Jaguar XJ100 today.

We have been in contact with Barretts of Canterbury several times but they were no help what so ever they didn't want to know at all. They said that they only keep records for 7 years and there is no one working there from 20 years ago. (Understandable).

We did not know much more of the history of the car until we took it the JEC Southern Day at Littlecote where we saw a man taking pictures of the Jaguar. When we got talking to him he told us he was the Chairman of the JEC and he reconised the car from 10 years ago when he tried to purchase it but they couldn't agree on the price as they were asking £10000 for the car. The condition of the car. the body repairs had been done with two new Jaguar replacement doors and front wing that were not painted but there was still no dashboard or interior with no glass or trim.

Condition of the car today:- It still has the original tyres from new with a 1993 stamp on them I had this confrimed by a tyre specialist the tyres have hardly any wear what you would expect from 5000k. Someone has spent an aweful lot of money putting glass and trim back on the car. The replacement seats were recovered with high quality leather with red trim at a cost of £2000. As you can see in the photos the discs have no wear at all. the calapers are still in the gold coating. shock exorbers and springs look as if they have just come out of the box and the engine compartment looks as if its just come off the end of the line.

The down side:- The interior trim door cards etc although very good have been used. The car is 20 years old and unfortunately there are a few small dent on the boot and bonnett and a couple on the doors they are so small they do not show up on the photos. There are several places on the car that have been touch up with an aerosol  but not very good. I had the car inspected by a local Jaguar specialist he couldn't believe the excellant condition of the car.  He said the condition of the car does reflect the mileage that has been done.

The reason I am selling it is when I bought the car it was raining and I didn't see any of the dents or the touch ups and as I travelled 250miles to look at it I had no control of the weather (sods Law). I drove the car home and it still drives like new absolutely gorgeous. The car really deserves to have the money spent on it to put it back to mint  condition of which I haven't got the time to do. As it has such a low mileage I don't want to use it alot so not to put the miles on it.

Because of the rarity of the car with this mileage  offers will only be accepted from people who take the time to come and look at the car. NO SILLY OFFERS AND NO TIMEWASTERS PLEASE!
