1966 M718 Military Front Line Ambulance M151 Jeep 1/4 ton truck Mutt Vietnam for sale

You are looking at a completely restored 1966 M718 Military Front Line Ambulance (FLA). The M718. ¼ ton. 4x4. frontline ambulance was designed to carry both ambulatory and litter patients. The M718 was used in both forward operating areas and rear support medical bases. The M718 was the primary ambulance used during the Vietnam war. The M718 is one of the variants of the M151 "Mutt" or "Jeep. " The M151 was designed and tested by Ford through most of the fifties. the M151 MUTT ("Military Utility Tactical Truck") went into production in 1959 and became the principal combat Jeep of the Vietnam era.
The M718 is a unibody design. This means the frame and body are actually one complete unit. The body cannot be removed from the frame for restoration. In order to do a complete restoration. the truck needs to be placed on a rotisserie and rotated 360 degrees. That was done to this jeep. see photos. Every single part was removed. restored. or replaced. I have made every effort to make this truck completely correct. All of the canvas is new. All of the litter racks. litter rails. pins and straps are in the truck. This includes the very rare folding passenger seat. The vehicle has both the ax and shovel (pioneer tools) mounted and included. The truck has a period correct flashing red light and correct military siren. It is painted in the correct 1966 USMC 24052 paint. The truck also has the unique deep water fording kit. as was customary on the USMC vehicles.
Also included are 3 litters. 3 wool blankets. a blanket bag. and an IV pole.
The vehicle is as correct and complete as I can make it. It runs and drives great. It is a real crowd pleaser in a parade or any time you drive it for that matter. It would be at home in any museum or in any collector's hands. The M718 is one of the rarest of the M151 family. (For the experts out there. I know the plastic 5 gallon water can is from the wrong period. it just rattles and scratches less. )
The ambulance has a clear Florida title. is currently registered and completely street legal. Don't let someone else get this truck if you are the least bit interested in it. I don't think you will see another anytime soon. (I listed this several months ago and "sold" it to an individual.  Unfortunately his mother became ill and had to be put in a nursing home. This added expense caused him to back out of the deal. )  Please feel free to email me with any questions. Depending on your location. I may be able to deliver it for a small fee.
