1956 AUSTIN HEALEY 100-4 BN-2 TWO-SEATER ROADSTER.
Up for offer here on Ebay is a restorable Austin-Healey 100-4 BN-2 Roadster that was recently discovered as a Texas barn find. It has been stored since the early 1970's. and originally started life as a Healey Blue car with Navy Blue trim. This is the desirable and rare 4-speed overdrive model with just over 4000 units produced. It would make a very exciting car with the addition of the Le Mans performance kit and louvered hood with strap. It is largely complete and offers a great opportunity to acquire one of these very attractive early four-cylinder Big Healeys. The car needs restoration. It includes a beautifully rebuilt original steel cylinder head that has been magnafluxed. bead-blasted. and fully reconditioned with new valves and machine work. ready to go. The engine and transmission are fitted to the car for transportation purposes. and would need rebuilding. There is a photo showing all the included parts.  The chassis rails are very straight and solid. with no evidence of any accident damage to the rails or suspension pick-up points.  The center cross-ex is very solid and nice. The left rear outrigger could use repair. but the other three are solid.  The floors and rockers are thin and need replacing. which is a typical straightforward job. The front crossmember needs the usual replacement kit. Underside photos show plenty of evidence of the original Healey Blue factory paint. Overall. the frame is very decent as the car spent most of it's life in a warm climate. The body on the car is reasonable. but could use the typical lower fender repairs and some front shroud straightening on the RH headlamp area. This car includes the top frame. seats. gauges. dashboard. heater. trafficator. and other large important 100-4 parts. It is missing the front bumper and overriders. windshield glass. and sidescreen set- all of which are available as new reproduction units.  The car still retains it's original body tag 5441/10187 and original VIN plate BN2-L 228358. There is an old Texas license plate from 1968. There is also a brass plaque on the dashboard that states "1st HUNSRUCK HILLCLIMB 17. 4. 60 ". so there could be some European competition history to the car. This car is located in Southern California and is sold with a clear and current Texas title. $17. 00.
