Up for auction is my beloved 1998 Rover Mini Cooper MPI finished in anthracite which unfortunately has to go to help fund a new family car. I bought the Mini last Feb with the intention of running it around for a couple of years and then taking it off the road for a bit of a restoration however within the first week of ownership the head gasket went. the heater matrix went and I discovered that there were holes in panels that I couldn't see so the resto would have to be brought forward. Previous work that was done on the car before I bought it was a complete front end in Oct 12 which I have the invoice for which cost over £1600. Since I have owned it I have carried out and replace the following parts: New rear valance New repair panels in both rear wheel arches New half boot floor repair section New battery tray New boot hinge repair section Replaced the boot due to the original being damaged New door skins on both doors Re-spray from the A Panels back and all new Cooper stripes and badges Front and rear sub-frames removed. shot blasted and powder coated in gloss black Engine stripped cleaned and put back together with all new seals etc. and any part that needed to be replacing (obviously new copper HG)and finished off with an alloy rocker cover Gearbox rebuilt with all new gaskets and bearings and a new turbo clutch put in on assembly Rebuilt 3. 44 diff installed New clutch master and slave cylinder and hose All brake lines and hoses replaced Brake callipers overhauled with new pistons and nipples New drilled and grooved brake disks and green stuff pads Complete rear brake overhaul All new suspension components New Superlight alloy wheels in anthracite to complement the colour or the Mini New Head lining New heater matrix New Maniflow LCB and an RC40 exhaust from the Cat back Obviously all serviceable items have been replaced New radiator just this week The list goes on and on and there is too much to list but if it need replacing then it has been replaced or fixed and I have kept all receipts As you can see from the pictures it has a full cream leather interior which is in very good condition with no rips and has aged well. This was obviously all cleaned when it was removed during the resto. The Webesto sunroof is fully electric and works well with no leaks. The woodwork is all original which as you can imagine is showing signs of age however I didn't replace this as I feel it adds to the character of this classic. I have however installed an up to date sound system with Vibe speakers in the parcel shelf and under the rear seats with a head unit that you can dock your iPhone/iPod on which sounds great. Please bear in mind that this is a 16 year old car and although I have carried out hours of work it is by no means perfect and with all Mini's they are never finished and there is always something that need doing to it. She has 5 months road tax left and was MOT'd in Dec 13 which it flew through with no advisories. There is bound to be something that I have missed but have been as honest as I can be. If you have any questions then please ask. Viewing is highly recommended and any test drive welcome. Cash on collection is preferred. Thank you for looking!
