OVERVIEW

I think I sell more classic trucks than almost anything. Not just because I personally love them. but because what else can you get that is so cool for such a small investment!

Great looks. easy to own and maintain. inexpensive parts. and the fact that EVERYWHERE you go you will find someone who wants to take a picture of it or talk to you about the one they wish they would’ve bought!

This truck is PERFECT for someone that always wanted to take part in the Classic Car scene but didn’t know how to work on them. because it is practically a new build. and is as simple to drive and maintain as your neighbors Toyota Camry is!

So sit back. read the detailed description. look at the 100 EXTRA-LARGE photos below. and BUY THIS BEAUTIFUL PICKUP before someone else does!

DESCRIPTION

This is a recently completed. show-quality Classic pickup truck with just over 6. 00 miles on it since completion of all items.

The truck was a complete body-off-frame build. and no part was left untouched in the restoration and build-out.

The chassis was stripped to bare metal. treated with POR rust preventative. and painted with chassis black.

The front clip on the truck is a DISC BRAKE. POWER RACK that was donated from a 1990 Chevy Silverado pickup. and has S-10 spindles. new front brake pads/rotors/disc’s. and stainless lines.

It has been boxed and professionally welded to the original 48 rails.

Rear end is a GM 10-BOLT from the same Chevy truck. and was rebuilt with new internals. a 41/17 ring/pinion. and 28 spline x 30 1/16 long axles. It was installed with new spring perches and a correct pinion angle when the custom made driveshaft was installed.

It rides on new leaf springs with lowering blocks and new performance lowering shocks out back. and new lowering coils with performance shocks up front.

Out back. new drum brake drums. shoes. hardware. and stainless steel lines were installed.

Front suspension got treated to the works. with ALL NEW inner/outer tie rod ends. tie rod adjusting sleeve. upper/lower control arm ball joints and bushings. front suspension bumper. upper/lower coil spring insulator. stabilizer bar link and bushings. idler arm. and a new MEVOTECH 1” stabilizer bar. Best of all. receipts and part numbers from when it was done in MAY 2013 are included in case you need maintenance a few years down the road!

Power comes from a 1990 Silverado 5. 7 Throttle-body fuel-injected motor that was rebuilt from the block (#10054727 by the way) out with new seals. gaskets. plugs. wires. injectors. TBI PVC valves. factory styled intake and exhaust manifolds. new battery. new alternator (both in AUGUST 2013). and a smattering of chrome and shiny stuff to make it look good at the shows.

All of the wiring was carefully laid out from the new harness. and routed under the hood so cleanly that you can’t hardly even see any of it!

The fuel tank was removed from the cab to pick up more interior leg room. and a TANKS. INC. 17 gallon poly tank with internal baffle was installed in back with stainless strapping. and new TBI fuel pump assembly. and 0-90ohm sending unit.

It gets additional protection from the practically new CURT box hitch that is frame mounted and comes complete with modern wiring harness for your trailer in back. By the looks of the inside of the hitch. it can’t have been used more than twice.

Mated to the 5. 7TBI motor is the donor Silverado’s 4L60 automatic overdrive transmission that was rebuilt with new internals. seals. and gaskets. It send power to the rear end. which has a 2. 41 final gear and lets the truck cruise on the freeway at just 1. 18rpm @ 75mph! Oh. and if tire squealing is your thing. the truck will still do that easily too! Thank heavens for overdrive. as you get the best of both worlds!

It sounds fantastic thanks to the factory reproduction exhaust manifolds that feed into custom pipes which are fitted with Cherry Bomb style mufflers that sneak out just ahead of the rear wheels. Throaty. with a nice V8 rumble. but not obnoxious.

It stays cool thanks to a reproduction style modern radiator with a front mounted hi-efficiency electric fan that’s tied to the key. It works to keep the truck at that 190 temp range regardless of outside temperature and even in the sweltering Florida heat with the A/C on full blast.

Oh yeah. the Vintage heating and air conditioning system is in tip-top shape. and has full heat. A/C. defrost. and blend functionality from the under dash control panel. 1 center vent. 1 open cab vent. and a driver and passenger side vent make sure that whatever you have blowing out reaches the cab’s occupants quickly and easily. It is an R134 system. and utilizes a modern GM style compressor for maximum performance and ease of maintenance.

One look at the all chassis shots will you show that the truck is practically new underneath. and if you spent some time detailing all the nooks and crannies. you could probably even slide a mirror under it at the shows!

Enough about the chassis though…let’s move up to that beautiful steel body that is just dripping in 2010 DODGE VIPER RED paint from front to back!

Yes. it is all steel. and yes it is VERY nice! With just over 6. 00 miles on it. it does have a few minor blemishes. but I’m not trying to get RIDLER AWARD money for the truck!

Some small stone chips on the ground level. hairline scuffs. and a spot on each front fender where the finish seam has split a little over the mount and where the welting was painted and cleared over are about it. and if you take the time to look through the 100 EXTRA LARGE photos I supplied below. you will see that the truck could cruise into any local or regional event with pride. and probably take home a trophy or two while you were at it! If you are looking for 100% absolute JUDGED perfection to win a National prize at GoodGuys or something. you need to spend A LOT more than this. and I can help you find that $75. 00 dream truck too. so call me!

This truck was made with the intent to be a reliable long distance machine that could be used daily if needed. but still could enter local and regional shows and get a prize. At that. it does PERFECTLY!

The glass is all in great condition on the truck. and only shows light. if any. signs of wear and patina.

All of the rubber. weather stripping. fuzzies and seals look like new.

The truck was treated to tons of new chrome during the build. including door handles. mirrors. wiper arms. headlight trim rings. front bumper. the bumper fill plate. grill insert. and reproduction hood badge/logo. All of it still shows fantastic. and looks beautiful on the truck.

New bed wood was installed along with new stainless strapping and hardware. and it all shows wonderfully.

Stainless gate chains are wrapped in clear vinyl for protection. and the gate opens and closes like it should.

LED tail lights out back are super bright and safe. and the headlights and parking lights up front were new during the build as well. The truck has parking lights. headlamps. high beams. electric wipers. and fully functional horn. but does not have turn signals. The stalk control is in place should you wish to add them down the road.  

It rolls along on a set of Wheel Vintique chrome steel 15” rims with chrome do-dish center caps. and they show like new from every angle.

Tires are KELLY NAVIGATOR GOLD Radials size P235/75R15 and they are clean and damage free. They have just over 6. 00 miles on them. and they are 60. 00 mile tires. so that means they have well over 80% of the tread life remaining!

Overall. the outside of the truck is a stunner. and it never fails to gets looks. a thumbs-up. or a smile from passerby.

Inside. you get to pilot this truck from a super sanitary cabin that has been tastefully done to be a little bit modern. without sacrificing the vintage nature of the truck.

The door panels are covered in a custom light tan tweed and leather. and are fit with DOORMAN power window switches. black hide door pulls. and the original chrome door handles which were left to add some originality and patina to the truck cab.

A tweed headliner with dual sun visors covers the roof. and sits above the original rear view mirror. which was painted to match the outside of the truck.

Light tweed covers the banded kick panels. and the passenger side is designed to remove easily to access the fuel-injection controls and module for ease of adjustment and maintenance.

The light tan carpet is automotive grade German weave. and is cut and banded for a finished look.

A brand new floor-mounted emergency brake handle has a black boot. and looks and functions perfectly.

The 1990 Silverado donated the GM column. which has been smoothed. painted and installed cleanly.

It has functional tilt. and the stalk for signals and cruise control is still intact should you wish to add these options down the road. The signal stalk DOES control the high beam function. rendering the original floor switch unusable.

The original and extra clean steering wheel with leather grip area tops off the column. and has a CHEVROLET logo center with functional horn.

The tan tweed and leather also graces the bench seat. and the seat has fore/aft adjustability as well as flip-forward functionality. There is a modest storage space behind the seat. and the back panel is fully covered and finished as well as carpeted to the rear of the cab.

The extra space in the cab is because the fuel tank was relocated to under the bed. with a modern flap door on the driver side fender with vented cap.

There are lap seat belts in place for three people in the truck.

The original dash has been painted in matching VIPER RED. and looks fantastic! It has a set of Vintage Series DOLPHIN gauges in white face with black letters to keep track of TEMP/VOLT/OIL/FUEL/SPEED/ODOMETER and TRIP. and all of the gauges appear to be functional and accurate. although they have not been professionally calibrated by me.

A working 12 volt outlet with cover sits in the dash. along with the headlamp switch and gauge control switch. but other than that. the dash appears mostly stock.

A Vintage Vibes AM/FM/iPOD/USB/MP3 stereo system with digital tuner sits in the factory radio spot and sounds fantastic! The plugs come out in the glove box. which has a fabricated liner to hold them and all the extra A/C plumbing. The original radio delete plate has been painted to match the truck. and is included in case you want to install it.

The ashtray is fully functional. but does not appear to have had a cigarette in it for quite some time. I can’t say that NO ONE ever smoked in it since 1948. but I don’t believe anyone has since it was restored/built! Besides. I think EVERYONE smoked in 1948. didn’t they?

On that topic. the truck doesn’t have any odors of any kind to speak of. and is quite clean inside and out. I imagine that when you get it home and spend some time detailing it and cleaning it from front to back it will look even better than it does now. but you could go to a show RIGHT NOW with the truck and probably win something!

Overall. the truck is just a real doll. and really doesn’t need much of anything except gas and a new owner take it out and enjoy it.

Everything on the truck works like it should. and after driving it for about 75 miles. I can say with confidence that you can fly in and drive this truck home!

It starts easily. as any fuel-injected car does. idles cleanly. and is ready to go wherever you want to take it.

Power is smooth and sure. and the mild shift kit doesn’t buck you or your passengers as it glides through all four of the gears.

Steering is light and easy. and the truck floats along the freeway at 75-80 mph like a new truck would.

Braking is solid and sure. and the truck scrubs off speed without any undue modulation. pulling. or funny business.

The truck tracks straight and true. and you can cruise with confidence on those long trips this thing was made for.

If you want a great looking and amazing driving classic truck that doesn’t need wrenching on. and can be maintained at a local Chevy dealer. this is probably the one for you. It is ready to roll. and won’t disappoint!

It is titled in Florida as a 1948 Chevrolet. and is free of all liens.
