1972 DeTomaso Pantera - Pre-L Model.
Listed on behalf of the owner.
Located near Portland, Oregon.
This 1972 Pantera has had just 3 owners from new. Current owner for 9 years. Previous owner for 21 years. A solid, rust-free, Northwest U.S. car.
MANY UPGRADES, including:
• Ford Motorsport SVO High-Output 351Aluminum Head Windsor V8. Rated at 385 HP.
• MSD electronic ignition.
• Pantera Performance brand Aluminum Radiator with twin sucker fans for excellent cooling.
• Fuel tank cleaned an coated inside and out. Electric fuel pump pulls from bottom of the tank.
• Stainless steel firewall/fuel tank cover.
• All wires and hoses hidden. Optima battery hidden under front trunk floor.
• Commercial bracing in the rear area.
• Removable cross member to access oil pan without having to remove engine from the car.
• Mindtrain Exhaust system.
• Wilkinson 17" wheels wrapped with newer Yokohama AV1-40i radials up front and AV1-35i radials in back.
• MUCH more. All receipts from the past 30 years are included. (See photo.)
During the upgrade, with 36,760 miles showing on the original odometer SVO gauges were installed, including a replacement speedometer. Replacement speedo read 52,499 when installed - a difference of 15,739 miles more than the original factory speedo. Current mileage showing is now 69,706 miles. Actual total mileage is closer to 53,967 miles. (69,706 minus the 15,739 mile difference from the original speedo.)
A total of approximately 16,766 miles on the new engine since completion.
Starts easily, runs smoothly with LOTS of power. Zahnradfabric (ZF) 5-speed transaxle. Noted for their durability with high-performance engines. Transmission shifts crisply in all gears.

• Stock body refinished in brilliant Porsche Guards Red paint with a deep shine. No dings or chips.
• Many parts re-chromed an re-finished.
• Original black leather interior in excellent condition.
• Simpson 5-point quick-release Racing Seat Belts.
• All gauges work and register accurately. Gas gauge bezel is loose.
• Upgraded AM/FM stereo.
• Air Conditioning.
Featured on stage at the 2002 Monterey Concorso Italiano.
