1957 Nash Metropolitan Convertible

1957 Nash Metropolitan Convertible. True Barn Find! Has been in inside storage in Florida since 1969.  Appears to be a complete and original car. Will need total restoration. . There is some rust underneath. I could tell that part of the crossmember had rust and some other areas but hard to see as I don't have a lift. (see pictures)

Comes with a hardtop parts car. The windshield has a crack but there is one with the parts car. Windows are good.

There is a new convertible top in a box that came with it. Not sure about the engine or rest of mechanicals but there is a engine and tranny in the parts car as well. Actual mileage is unknown.

The value of these Metro's are exploding rising almost 35% in the last year. especially the rare convertibles.

I wanted to restore this for my wife but need cash for my business now. My reserve is much lower than the estimated value of  $7500. in this condition. (see Haggerty Insurance Valuation below. )

On Jan-09-14 at 11:11:08 PST. seller added the following information:

A bidder asked me about the engine. I spoke with the previous owner who was by the way the original owner and he will look for the key but told me that you can turn the key switch on without the key and then pull the starter knob. I hooked up a battery box and the engine is free and cranks. He said it was running fine when he parked it but leaking a little oil. He moved to Florida and brought the car with him and put it in storage ever since.
I also checked other electricals. The headlights and taillights work. The turn signal does not. The horn works.  I did not hear any sound from radio but was told tube radio and may take awhile to warm up. I just turned it on and didn't hear anything and turned it off immediately.
