What a beautiful car! This 1936 Ford Model 48 Tudor Sedan is one of the most captivating examples I've seen. It has been painted a gorgeous Cobalt Blue metallic that gives a tremendous pop over the drab colors of the era without going over-the-top. Not only is this a fantastic color but it also seems to amplify the car's wonderful shape.

This Ford is a Standard model which seems more uncommon these days. Here too the paint brings out the model's features like the painted front grille, painted windshield frame, and single taillight. The black top insert is in great condition and all brightwork is nice and shiny. There is also an attractive spare tire carrier that really dresses up the back of the sedan body style. The matching wheels with Firestone whitewall tires are just the right touch.

The Flathead V8 is all stock and features a Stromberg 97 carburetor that was recently rebuilt. An aftermarket electric fuel pump is present as well. The 221ci 85hp engine can be a bit underwhelming when accelerating, but that's not really the point of these cars. The 3-speed transmission works great as do the mechanical brakes (Ford cars did not go to hydraulic brakes until 1939). The car also has new kingpins for better steering and safety.

The tan interior is in amazing condition. The seats are quite comfy and the rear compartment offers tremendous legroom. Note the factory treatment of carpeting in back and rubber in front. The beautiful Ford steering wheels remains in place, though the horn / headlight functions have been moved to switches on the dash. The variable speed vacuum wiper works properly as do the tilt-out windshield and cowl vent. There is also a surprisingly spacious trunk.

This Ford represents one of the great automobile eras and offers an updated look that really turns heads; even the younger crowd appreciates this one! And while there are plenty of pre-war cars to pick from, few of them can match the magnetism of this car. If you're not afraid to stand out then this may be the Ford for you.
