MODEL HISTORY Ashley was a pioneering manufacturer of fibreglass body shells and chassis for specials from 1955 to 1962. offered in a range of configurations from roadsters. sports-racers to GTs - primarily to cater for the self-build enthusiast market. Ashley also offered a range of specialist products to support the home construction of these popular specials. many of which survive today. In later years. the company diversified into the design and production of bonnets and hardtops for mainstream sports cars. including the Austin-Healey Sprite. MG Midget and MGB. Triumph Spitfire and the Jaguar E Type.  

It was during this later period of the company's history that the Ashley GT conversion was conceived to turn the ubiquitous BMC powered Spridget into a full Gran Turismo

GSB Classics is a small operation set up by us. a husband and wife team. running the business from a barn in rural Harrogate. We have been classic car enthusiasts for over 20 years. appreciating styles and trends of bygone eras.

Inspired by nostalgia of our childhood and youth. being taken off on family driving holidays. on one occasion being squeezed into the back ‘seat' of a two-seater. which was only really intended as a luggage shelf.
