1961 Convertible, Fawn Beige with Fawn Beige Interior. 283 CI 230 HP Engine. One of only 1.363 in the New Fawn Beige offered first in 61. Also, this was the last year for Contrasting Painted Coves with this one having them in lovely Ermine White! This beauty is truly a Museum Quality Car, Having Spent Years in the Lingenfelter Collection in Brighton, Michigan. The cars past becomes even more interesting. Prior to its stay in the Museum its owner was not only a California fighter pilot but was actually the Commandant of the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School at Edwards AFB in southern California. The car is largely original, although the paint appears to be too good to be original! The car comes equipped with the Signal Seeking AM Radio and the Removable Hardtop as well. Originally equipped with a 3 Speed Manual Transmission, it now has a 3 Speed Turbo 350 Automatic Transmission in its place. One needs to look carefully to notice this as form the inside you might not notice it. The car also now also has had Power Steering and Brakes added as well, making it a pleasure to actually drive! Nothing was cut or destroyed by these modifications and the original removed parts are available with the car should you wish to reverse these changes. Car currently shows 84k Miles. An absolutely Stunning Car with very few flaws. A walk around Video is attached as well as a link to a Magazine article detailing the cars past including a link to a list of the Commandants listing the former owner.
