This 1955 Ford Fairlane Sunliner underwent an impressive restoration and has an absolutely exquisite look both inside and out. 1955 was the first year for Ford's newest top-of-the-line model, the Fairlane, supplanting Ford's Crestline as the new flagship model. Interestingly, the name "Fairlane" was borrowed from Henry Ford's breathtaking and expansive Dearborn, Michigan estate "Fair Lane." The flagship Fairlane models featured a totally new look for Ford, with longer, wider, and lower bodies, "V" shaped side trim, fender skirts, special Fairlane badging, and chrome headlight trim. Also introduced by Ford to all of its models in 1955 were panoramic wraparound windshields, which were on General Motors' premium level marques including Oldsmobile, Buick, and Cadillac. This particular '55 Sunliner spent its time after its extensive restoration in the hands of two prominent east coast collectors who have maintained the car in an exemplary manner. A 272 Cubic Inch V8 engine with a single 4 barrel carburetor is found under the hood on this '55 Ford and this power pack car push out over 190 horsepower in its day. The 272 V8 is hooked up to an Automatic Transmission that allows just about anyone to take a cruise in this Sunliner. With Power Steering, driving this stunning '55 Ford Sunliner is even more comfortable. The exterior on this 55 Sunliner Convertible has been beautifully refinished in its original color, Raven Black. The white vinyl powered convertible top is in superb condition and goes up and down with ease with the simple toggle of a switch. This '55 Ford Sunliner sits on 4 wide whitewall bias-ply Firestone tires with wire hubcaps, giving this convertible a classic 50s look. The interior on this 1955 Fairlane Sunliner is absolutely stunning! The red and white vinyl bench seats have all been reupholstered in the original color scheme and are in excellent condition. The steering wheel, door panels, and dash are also in superb shape, matching the beautiful red and white color scheme carried throughout the interior. The dash is equipped with a 120 MPH Speedometer, fuel gauge, and temperature gauge, along with an AM radio and clock. A classic 50s-style tissue dispenser is also tucked neatly under that dash. Whether you are in search of your very first classic car or you have a garage full of fifties Fords, this 1955 Ford Fairlane Sunliner would be an excellent choice. Give us a call today!
