LOW MILEAGE SURVIVOR!
Overall. this is an excellent. un-restored vehicle.  It is VERY RARE to find a car in such great original condition.  This low-mileage 1966 Ford Mustang has been pampered since being built at the Ford plant in San Jose. California and living in the Los Angeles area until 2001. when it moved to Vermont. Since arriving in Vermont. it has been driven very little - slightly more than 3. 00 miles in 13 years.
If you are looking for a good. reliable daily driver. this is it.  It's great condition with all original sheet metal. interior and trim parts. and nearly all the original under-the-hood parts would make it a great platform for a complete restoration.

The car was purchased new at King Motor in Huntington Park. California – in fact the original California black plates. still with the car. have the original King Motor license plate frames still on!

Along with the car. there are registration going back to 1969. showing the license # RUP 280.  In addition to the registrations. there is maintenance documentation back to 1977.

The car has had five owners. including me.  All of them have pampered and cared for this very fine. rust-free California Mustang.

MILEAGE Odometer currently shows 89. 13 miles.  It has been driven very little in the past 12 years as the odometer showed 86. 03 when purchased.  There is every reason to believe that this is the original mileage. Seller in 2001 stated that the odometer at that time indicated the true mileage.  In addition. the small note taped to the dashboard seems to indicate that it had been driven only 76. 00 miles in twenty years as of  November 15. 1986
BODY CONDITIONBody in good condition.  No visible rust – I believe that there is none on the exterior surfaces.  Bottom front of passenger side door was rusting from inside out when I purchased in 2001.  This is due to a commonly known flaw in early Mustangs – window seals allow some rainwater in which collects at the inside bottom of the door.  Area was repaired with steel plate in 2001.  Condition has not appeared on the drivers side door.  Body has a number of small dents and dings – mostly on the doors.  There are several dings on the top of the fenders and a dent in the roof above the drivers door caused by object on garage shelves falling on the car during an earthquake.  The taillight panel shows some unevenness to the right of the gas cap from some unknown cause. Although I don't have confirming information. I believe the car was repainted. with the original Vintage Burgundy color at some point – there is a small amount of overspray on the windshield chrome trim.
Chrome is in great shape. little pitting or cracking and no rust.
ENGINE COMPARTMENTThe engine compartment shows less than expected wear for a car approaching 50 years of age! Original 289 2V engine starts and runs well.  Seller stated in 2001 that the blue on the air intake housing and valve covers is the original factory paint. Radiator. thermostat housing. shift bushing and fan shroud were replaced in 1999 and are. obviously. not original.  Battery was replaced in 2001 and still seem to have good charge.
Overall very good condition. especially considering the age of the car.
TRUNK COMPARTMENTThe trunk compartment still has the original liner which is good but worn. The original spare tire is also present and holds air.  Original jack and lug wrench are present as well.
INTERIOROverall very good overall condition for this un-restored car.  Dashboard still very ‘black' with no cracks.  All instruments in the instrument cluster function.  Back seat and passenger seat are in good condition with no rips or tears.  Drivers seat is very worn with significant tears on seat bottom as well as on the upper. outside corner.  Carpet faded in most places.  Has non-factory floor mats in front.  Under dash interior lights work as do the lights on the back of the console.
Floor pans are solid. and never repaired.
