If you're reading this. you're already familiar with the Sunbeam Tiger and I don't need to share with you the fascinating history of the car.   This fine 1965 Mark I. painted in Carnival Red with 81. 25 miles. has been in the same family since 1975. and is well documented since that time.   The vitals for the vehicle are as follows:

ROTA = 1022DATE = 64/10/27CHASSIS = B9471169ENGINE = 2208 K22KA(ASSEMBLED 64/6/22)CODE = 39BODY = JAL 560743GEARBOX = HEH E 012304AXLE = K64 1213KEY #1 = RM 910KEY #2 = FS 924

Originally driven in and around Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania. the car was never during the past 38 years driven in winter weather—it was garage stored.   In fact. I am including with the car the zippered storage bag that was used to store the car during the winters.

The engine was rebuilt in 1990.    The block was boiled and then blueprinted and clearanced; the crankshaft was polished; the cylinders were bored out (I believe . 030") and micro finished; the valve guides were re-sleeved; a three-angle valve grind was done to the seats and valves; competition brand "Lemans" solid lifter cam. valve springs. nbsp;keepers. and solid lifters were installed; new crank. rod and cam bearings were installed; con rods were refurbished and beaded; high performance/high rpm rod bolts were installed; sealed power rings and gaskets; new 9. 5:1 CR pistons; heads surfaced. nbsp;carefully ported and polished; assembly balanced; freeze plugs replaced.  All machine work was done by notable racecar machinist Al DeNunzio at B&R Speed Shop. in Oakmont. Pennsylvania.

As noted in the photos. the vehicle comes with both the rare. factory steel hardtop (red) and vinyl soft top (black).   The soft top was replaced in 2006. as were the black seats with red piping.  Since that time. the windshield was replaced. as were numerous hoses and moldings. and the black and red piping center console cover was refinished.

Last summer. the carburetor caught fire while starting the vehicle after a round of golf in Las Vegas. Nevada. Fortunately. because the 260 V8 leaves little open space in the engine compartment. the fire was deprived of oxygen and slowly smoldered until extinguished (see photos).   After the incident. I shipped the car to Dale's Restorations in San Bernardino. California.   Those of you familiar with Dale know his love of Sunbeam Tigers and his reputation for quality work.   As you can see from the photos. the end product is impressive—the car hasn't looked better.   Among other things. during its time with Dale. the following work was done:

Wiring Harness replacedFuse Block replacedBrake Master Cylinder replacedBrake Booster replacedHolley 465 CFM Carburetor replacedCarpet Set replacedHood media blastedEntire vehicle sanded. prepped and paintedOriginal steering wheel refurbishedClutch Disk. Pressure Plate and Release Bearing replaced

Those of you familiar with TAC authentication certainly appreciate how difficult it is to arrange for three credentialed inspectors to get together to examine your car.   Unless you are fortunate enough to live in California and can attend a TAC event. it's extremely difficult to arrange.   Although I hoped to have the car authenticated while being refurbished at Dale's Restorations. and discussed the process with several members of Sunbeam Tiger Owners Association. I simply ran out of time before I had to haul the car back to Las Vegas.   This car is documented. however. in the Book of Norman. on page 204.

I am including with the vehicle numerous spare parts and brightwork (e. g. . “SUNBEAM” letters. metal Sunbeam Rootes Group logos; etc. ).   I also have a Sunbeam Owners Handbook of Maintenance & Repair. and service documentation since 1975.

There are a few small blemishes here and there (e. g. . two small tears in the vinyl top where pinched (I repaired those). a few small dings. etc. ). but the vehicle is overall in great condition. and never fails to impress.   It's always fun to arrive at car show with a Tiger—folks are drawn to it.   And unlike another car with a similar history. the first question I'm asked is not “Is that a real Tiger or a replica?”

Please do not bid unless you are prepared to pay for this vehicle within 7 calendar days of winning the auction.   A non-refundable $1. 00 deposit is required within 24 hours of winning the auction.   Balance due via certified check or wire transfer. with all funds cleared before the vehicle will be released.   Although it is the winning bidder's responsibility to arrange to have the vehicle picked up. I will gladly assist to load the car at no additional charge.   I'm certain you'll be delighted with this beautiful vehicle. however. please note it is being sold “AS IS. WHERE IS. WITH ALL FAULTS. ”  Aside from a warranty of clear title. THERE ARE NO OTHER WARRANTIES. EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

On May-03-13 at 21:42:54 PDT. seller added the following information:

I know there are some of you who wish the vehicle had been TAC'd by the San Francisco Bay Area's Sunbeam Tiger Owners Association.   In order to address that desire. I've attached photos of several unique attributes that differentiate the Sunbeam Tiger from the Alpine.   I suggest that you also visit the following website in order to better understand the value of the below photos of this vehicle:
