I am considering selling my 1971 Mustang 351 Boss. This car. simply put. is a time capsule. I found out about this car from my dad last year. and when I told him I was looking for a rare muscle car he said that my uncle in MA had a friend who bought a rare Mustang when he returned from Vietnam and has had it ever since; and that is he would ever sell it. that would be a good one to get. A few weeks later when we were planning a trip to MA for my dad to visit my uncle. my uncle told him that Ray was wanting to sell the Mustang. At the time he did not know what kind of Mustang it was. but he knew it was rare (my dad was a Chevy guy. sorry). So my dad said that when he gets to MA he and my uncle would go by then send me some pictures of the Mustang. well. he did. and that is when I noticed it was a 1971 Boss 351. Ray and I talked over the phone and he gave me lots of information. and the deal was cut over the phone. site unseen. My dad returned from MA. then he and I took the 1630 mile trip together to get the car with my car hauler (we never turned the radio on once there nor back). Anyways. after speaking with a few national judges from the MCA orginization I decided to bring it to a national show in Beaumont to have these specialists take a look at it. they were the ones that said. it is like a time capsule. They pointed out many original items that are rarely found with these old cars. A few are the original air filter. all glass. interior including seats. console. carpet. dash. radio. everything. even the windshield wipers that came on the car in 71.

This car was parked under a car cover in a shed for over 10 years at Rays house. What he did not realize was that mice urinated on the top of the door ledges and small rear window ledges which resulted in some surface rust. Also on the Magnum 500 wheels where they stayed parked has rust on the wheels from the same. Under the hood towards the back of the Ram Air is the only thru rust due to a large nest that was on top of the air cleaner and in the hood. I was told not to touch it. and do not replace the hood. so I did not. I did not attempt to replace or repair anything. I just gave him a bath and cleaned him up a bit. The heater core was removed due to a nest also. I have a new heater core. I have been asked many questions concerning the engine. trans. exhaust. etc. A few things are yes it does have the Autolite carb. original dipstick. original distributor. original spark plug wires. original air filter and air cleaner. all Autolite where it should be. original exhaust. original radiator. correct battery cables. original paint. all original interior and correct sill plates. all gauges and every light bulb works as it should. runs and drives after carefully removing spark plugs. using Mystery Oil in all cylinders. disconnecting the original fuel pump. and new plugs and battery. it cranked on the first try and I have a video of that time. I also have many pictures of it in the shed in MA. and pictures of it now. It was in the Mustang monthly Rare Finds edition. and according to the judges. this car is the only one that they have personally seen that was an untouched Boss 351.

It stays in my shop in LA and since my dad passed away unexpectingly in February (he is pictured in the magazine with my uncle). I am only considering selling this car. but it will not be cheap. so do not waste my time. or yours. I am very confident that if there is another untouched 1971 Boss 351 out there with as much originality as this one has. I want to see it. Feel free to call me at (337) 789-6276 with any questions. I only have a few pics on my laptop I will post with this ad. but I have many more on a camera. Thx

Also. the two pics are the one on the trailer was on my way back home. untouched. the other is in my uncles driveway in MA after a light rain. This car shines and has a really nice shiny original paint job. and very nice factory interior. Everything is close to factory condition. and was never wrecked or repaired according to the original owner. which is still available to answer any additional questions I may not be able to answer for you. I also have paperwork and a copy of the registration and title from the origianl owner.

On Jan-07-14 at 15:23:32 PST. seller added the following information:

There are 3 of the center caps. It is missing one. Not a crack in the windshield. I also have a new carpet set. rubber mat set. and front bumper. Everything works as it should. I will post more pictures when I return home from work. I could also send the video of the initial start up after I picked up the car. and a current video of the car running as of today. Every knob and switch is present. I believe it has the AM/FM 8-track player in it. Hurst shifter. doors roll down windows correct and locks work. Windshield wipers work. All original glass. rubbers. and seals. Antenna base is there but rod is gone. I purchased a concourse antenna but never put it on. Door sills are new but NOS from 71. The carpet is numbered with Ford underneath it. I have pictures of that too. A build sheet was found under the front passenger carpet area when I took it up. I also have a 2nd build sheet and a copy of the Bill of Sale when purchhased along with many other documents. Mileage is accurate as per original owner and supporting documentation. Rim horn still works. According to Marti Report it was the only 351 Boss that had the rim horn installed. No rust bubbles or anything on the car or under the car other than the door ledges and under the hood as previously described. Does not have original battery . oil filter. or tires (obviously).
