Starwood Motors is offering up for sale a vintage Funco SS1 Unlimited buggy. which is a time capsule to its period in racing. If you are wanting to get into vintage class racing or are just looking to start your own Baja Racing Museum this car would be an excellent find. It could be enterable in the Norra Mexican 1000 ralley event as is.

The little red buggy is what we believe to be a 1972-82 Funco SS1 Unlimited it has a redicioulsly modified 1600cc motor. Every mod part EMPI makes. (120HP est. ) & three guys can pick it up! 4speed ultra close ratio trans with a true "lock out" reverse. a remote oil cooler the size of the engine it self. upright remote oil filter post. Emergency power shut down. steel braided and billet everything! NO EXPENSE OR CORNER CUT HERE!!! Center mount shock resistant fuel cell. (eliminating the old side aluminum tanks that were outlawed due to safety) removable steering wheel. smooth travel/zero play steering. full instrumentation. flawless chrome baja alloys and new BFG Terrain tires. oil pressure failure warring light. Generator light. 5 point harness. adjustable racing seat on sliders. a legendary chasis in the world of racing. full fiberglass body. dual stainless Bilstien shocks. skid plates and bumper gaurds over every square inch. everthing is guarded. accessible and easily removable. driving lights. brake lights and a clean Texas VW TITLE allowing you to entertain making  it street legal should your State allow it.

The best this about this unbelievable piece of racing history. Is that it looks like it was built yesterday! Literaly ever nut. bolt. and wire fitting looks. PERFECT! We take in almost anything as we acquired this beast. This one is defiantly out of our realm of expertise but we can share with you this. We saw in a recent auction one similar (didn't look as clean) open at $5000 and jump to $14. 00 in less than two minutes. Didn't get to see what the final was. we took this in right near the asking price and are just looking to get the cash value back out of it. From our research most everyone says "If you find one. in any condition. Buy it". I think its fair to say this rig is worth closer to $20. 00 plus.
