I purchased this car in 1998 as a car for summer use. It has been garage stored for most of it's time with me and has done about 22. 00 miles in that time. The specification is the one which many buyers are looking for. namely red with chrome wire wheels. black leather seats with red piping and overdrive. The previous owner chose flame red rather than the standard 60's colour and made several upgrades to the car during it's restoration such as built in reverse lights from the slightly later model. The engine was rebuilt as part of the restoration but almost immediately upon purchase I had a proper unleaded conversion done and at the same time fitted a slightly uprated Piper camshaft with new followers and a carburettor overhaul. The red looks a bit orange in the photos but in reality it is a bright red. Recent work includes a brake overhaul. a brand new hood. recon radiator and a repaint of the front footwells. This is not a bodged up car. full of filler. the MOT tester recently commented on how sound it was. It is not pretending to be a concourse car but it is certainly well up to show standard and I have displayed it frequently. The car does need regular cleaning and polishing to look it's best. particularly those wire wheels! There are areas which could be improved but most are jobs of the 'Saturday morning' variety. Please come and inspect the car if you wish. but PLEASE no traders with silly offers. you will be wasting your time and mine! Contact me through 'ask seller a question' initially.
This is a car which I love and intended to keep for many more years but two large dogs and now my first 1 year old grandson means that it was hardly used in the last two or three years and so it really must go to someone who will cherish it. Please bear in mind that this is a classic car some 47 years old so no warranty is implied or can be given given
The only faults which I am aware of are:
Occasional rainwater leakage during heavy rain int the front footwells. I think through the heater vent behind the bonnet.
Slight imperfections in the paint. which is not surprising after 15+years the main one being an area  of paint reaction on the aluminium bonnet.
Spare wheel is painted variety. not chrome type.
Overdrive has always been slow to engage when the car is cold but improves as it warms up
The chrome wheels are no longer perfect but you have to look closely to notice.
