                  1961 Jaguar XK-150                   3. 8L Drophead Coupe   You are looking at an exceptionally rare and concours show condition '61 Jaguar Drophead Coupe.  The famed XK-150 was made from 1957 to 1961.  The 150 had a very capable 3. 4 liter engine. but in 1960 toward the end of this model. Jaguar began to offer the 3. 8 liter engine that would subsequently go into the famed successor. the XK-E.  This bored out engine produced a healthy 220 horsepower and disc brakes were added for the first time.  Precise steering was by rack and pinion.  Due to the increased cost and higher taxes in England for the 3. 8. relatively few of this last of the 150s were made. adding to their desirability and collector's value.   This particular car was an outstanding driver car that was treated to a two and a half year complete nut and bolt restoration to the very highest standards by marque and especially XK-150 model experts. JK Restorations.  The owner showed the car and won consistent 100-point Jaguar Club of North America scores as well as other wins at concours events.  Eventually the car was sold to a west coast car collector who has continued to show the car with numerous first place wins.  It is a numbers matching authenticated car with Jaguar Heritage Certificate.   The XK-150 Drophead is the most expensive of the 150s to restore. so this particular car. already completely restored to perfection. represents a tremendous value as well as highly collectable due to the rare 3. 8 liter engine and the last year of this model.  It is finished in a beautiful Imperial Maroon with tan leather and top.  It is very complete with all tools. jack. books. extra manuals and period brochures.  It also has fitted luggage in maroon.   One needs only look at the rapidly escalating prices of classics to see that this car represents a tremendous opportunity. whether for show or to be driven.  Your close inspection is invited.
