Sale price: £4,500.00 make an offer

Car location: Weybridge, Surrey, United Kingdom

Seller's notes: Bare metal respray with photographic history in 1998. 9,500 miles since and the paint continues to have a deep lustre. Despite excellent appearance there are blemishes in the paint including a sign of rust at the very back of the o/s sill where there is a blister and some micro spots in the paint on the passenger door. The seats are replacements (perhaps MX5?) and are very comfortable, sporty and condition is like new. The interior and hood are in good order. There is no badge in the centre of the steering wheel.

1981 (W) TRIUMPH SPITFIRE 1500 CONVERTIBLE 4-Speed Manual Inca Yellow for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.05) based on 547 votes

Late model Triumph Spitfire 1500 Sports Convertible. Registered January 1981. 4-Speed Manual (no overdrive). Inca yellow with black interior and black hood.

First Registered in St. Austall. Cornwall. supplied by Carlyon Bay Garages Ltd. Now 94. 00 miles from new with original stamped Service Passport and substantial paperwork history file. Several keys and original blue Triumph Spitfire 1500 Handbook.

This car has always been cherished throughout its life. as illustrated by circa £11. 00 of receipts. In Summer 1998 £6. 00 was spent on a full bare metal restoration. which included the removal of glass. engine and ancillaries by a specialist in Somerset. There are two photo albums which contain pictures of the car in 1996. 1998 and 2002 - Pre. during and post the renovation. Just 9. 00 miles since the restoration and the professional paintwork continues to have a deep gloss. There are some other paint imperfections but you have to get up close to find them and nothing that I could capture on a photograph very easily. Some of the brightwork. the hood and the seats have been renewed. The steel wheels were replaced with period look 13" Minilites. These are in excellent order with no kerbing or scratches. Tyres are all nearly new.

The car has received routine and frequent servicing. Replacement rocker cover gaskets fixed a small weep of oil in September and the spark plugs and oil were replaced at the same time. Over £1. 00 on maintenance in the past two years (just 1. 00 miles during this time) has kept the car in fine fettle. The engine sounds as it should and never rattles on start up when cold. There is no engine smoke and performance is spritely.

The clutch biting point is fairly low and narrow. so it requires careful control for a smooth get away when cold but the car drives very well and feels nimble and agile.

Viewings are strongly encouraged.

Not a perfect example but requires very little to make a show standard car. Long tax and MOT until September 28th 2014.

Cash on collection with a small deposit straight away. Buyer to collect within 5 days of purchase.
