Lotus Elan CN Sprint for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.05) based on 95 votes
Sorry for the title on this sale but this car was not built by Lotus but is based on a kit of lotus parts produced by Christopher Neil Cars (Lotus Dealer at the time) in 1983. It is registered as a CN Sprint and has chassis number CN0101. This was their first car and built by them to promote the kit. It appeared in magazines at the time for promotion. Body parts, chassis and many components were from Lotus.Originally fitted with a XR3 engine but now has a 2000cc Zetec. It's reliable and very quick in this light car. It also sounds amazing with a real rasping note and will pop on overrun! In 2019 I fitted Tony Thompson fast road suspension front and rear.I was planning on fitting minilite wheels and tyres but never got around to it. The tyres will need replacing soon as they have been flagged on the MOT as slightly perishing.New battery this year.Sep 2022 MOTThe vinyl hood is in good condition.I have lots of previous receipts and history. The speedo has just stopped working and is showing 6848 miles but that won't be correct. There's lot's of old MOT's so it might be possible to calculate the correct mileage. The paintwork is showing signs of age with micro blisters due to osmosis. The white paint below the drivers door is flaking. There are a lot of blisters on the boot lid but I have a brand new fibreglass lid in primer, ready for paint, to go with the car.The Private plate is not included in the sale. The Original reg is A548 TLGI'm a big Lotus fan and and own a few other models. When I bought this car it was perfect for what I needed. I wanted a convertible Elan with a reliable engine and something I could modernise. I didn't want to do this to an old original car so this was perfect. Unfortunately I'm starting a new business and I need the funds so the wife has told me one of the cars needs to go. I'm regretting it already
