I am advertising my 1964 E Type Series 1 FHC for sale after just over 13 years of ownership.

It is a matching numbers vehicle originally sold in St. Louis USA (I have the JDHT certificate) hence it is left hand drive.

The previous owner bought the car in Florida in 1995 and shipped it to Dubai. UAE. where he had the car stripped down and resprayed with new sills etc. welded in place (receipts are available).

I bought the car in 2000 and used it regularly for 10 years to September 2010 while I was working in the UAE. The car was then shipped to the UK when I left to work in another overseas location.

Until 2010 the car was used regularly and maintained in constant working order. When items needed to be fixed they were replaced with uprated items whilst outwardly maintaining the original appearance.

I have a comprehensive file of receipts totalling over 12. 000 pounds spent on parts and maintenance since 2000.

The car has now been garaged in the UK for the last 3 years.

Let me first point out some of the issues with the vehicle:

- The car has been garaged in the UK since its arrival at the end of 2010 and the engine has not been started since then.

- The chrome on the rear bumpers has suffered a little during the last 3 years (see photos).

- Front bumpers are not fitted (the previous owner and I liked the appearance without) but they are included in the sale (minus the central badge carrier).

- New front suspension bushes are required.

- The central main (overhead) sheet of the headlining is missing though the remainder of the headlining is in position and in good condition.

- The previous owner replaced the interior with a kit which is generally vinyl / carpet rather than leather.

On the plus side some specific items to highlight are:

+ The bodywork is in generally excellent condition and is rust free.

+ The engine was fully rebuilt (new bearings. pistons. valves. guides. new clutch plate fitted) in 2004 and has only approx. 6. 00 miles on it since then.

+ Dayton stainless steel wire wheels (purchased from the USA for USD 1. 00) were fitted in 2007. These are 6” rims permitting the fitting of tubeless tyres.

+ As the car was used in a hot country there is a high performance aluminium radiator coupled with a Kenlowe fan.

+ Pertronix ignitor ignition.

+ Team CJ (USA) adjustable rear shock absorbers.

+ Spin on oil filter kit.

+ Rob Beere high flow oil pump.

+ Dynamat insulation on engine bay bulkhead.

+ Wilwood front brake calipers are fitted (from Team CJ USA) which provide greatly enhanced braking performance.

I wish to sell the car as I now live in Thailand and have no plans to return to the UK permanently. High Thai import duties on vehicles preclude me from shipping the car there.

I have several boxes of parts including some of the footwell carpets. new front shocks. spare distributor. additional bumpers. various suspension bushings and other spares in Thailand which I can provide to the new owner if he / she simply meets all shipping costs. If interested. shipping quotations can be obtained and this can be discussed further at a later date.

Please contact me via ebay messages to arrange to view the car. to ask any questions. or request additional photographs. The engine has not been started since the car arrived in the UK. I will be looking to get it started after the new year and will update the listing with news of how I get on.

Payment must be by bank transfer and the car will only be released to the buyer once the money is in my account.

International bidders are welcome but the successful bidder. whether from the UK or overseas. must arrange all transportation noting that the car has been garaged and unused for the last 3 years.

The vehicle has been garaged since arriving in its shipping container at the end of 2010 and has not been registered in the UK. As it has been standing for 3 years some recommissioning will obviously be required to obtain an MoT but if you are looking for a complete. solid. rust-free E Type needing only some basic mechanical attention to get it ready for regular use then I believe this car to be an excellent choice.
