New photos 17/11/2021.It's concours, not just good nor just excellent, not just worth a couple of bob extra, it's concours and I have to charge more for it and anyone who wishes to own it will enjoy it immensely. It's not known on the UK classics / show scene so it has the potential to pick up show wins with ease if that's what you like to do. Please don't offer me a figure without viewing as I'm unlikely to accept. My goodness I sound like a real grump. I'm not at all, just trying to be honest and realistic.I'll answer all fair and pleasant questions honestly and quickly. This car has a heritage shell, top class paint, engine work by Engine Resource, gearbox by Chas Butler and sons, new wheels and tyres with zero miles on, upgraded suspension with gaz shocks and new springs all round. All parts, new, renewed or refurbished, all receipts for parts available totalling £14000 not including shell and paint. Heritage shells are now £13000 unpainted. It's a spectacular, concours, prize winning car. Here's the list of work completed. The car has a Heritage Shell and professional paint inside, out, underneath and arches, clear wax-oiled in chassis legs, sills etc in new shell from new. It has an extensive history file, see photos and receipts for parts and work filling a lever arch file. The file even has a 1976 professional assessment carried out by the second owner to establish condition prior to purchase, of course, it's very far from the same car now.It has new navy wool carpets, hood, tonneau and half tonneau from Prestige, engine was rebored, unleaded conversion, new shells, flywheel skimmed, new oil pump, new clutch and carefully rebuilt, the gearbox and overdrive were professionally refurbished and work beautifully, new Aldon distributor, new SU carbs, malpassi fuel king, fuel pump, alternator, radiator, brake and clutch masters, pipes and slaves. new full wiring harness, petrol tank which was powdered coated along with every part restored (including heater box and hood frame, radiator shroud) crackle finish dash and consoles, the screen surround was restored by a specialist and new glass also fitted, seats were refurbished in original basket weave, new door panels and other navy trim parts, boot carpeted in navy wool from Prestige, cd changer in boot, head unit in glove box with period Motorola in centre consol, new tex stainless mirrors. New tax disc from British Repro Tax Discs to reflect the original disc fitted to the car.The original “Rostyles” are perfect and new tyres fitted to them last year, no miles whatsoever on them but, at a mid point this year, the rostyles were removed  (just to protect them) with wider new tyres and black alloys from MGB Hive fitted, there are no miles on them either. This summer, parabolic rear springs from MGOC, GAZ shocks front and rear, new steering rack, new wishbones, new front springs and pans and fitted poly bushes, a new Moss Tourist Trophy stainless exhaust was fitted, so it drives like a car from more modern times and sounds amazing. Think this year's work cost £3000. I actually was putting up the hood yesterday and managed to rip the window zip. I have ordered another at £500 from Prestige and it will be replaced before sale. It's an example of how I treat the car and how I expected to be treated when buying a car. Some may have tucked the broken zip away and hoped it wasn't seen. Not the way I do things. I'm a private seller and don't do untruths. The Rostyles and their new tyres come with the sale for originality and the car has a tailored specialised breathable car cover also included (£250). I visited two people yesterday, the first, the manager of a classic car auction house. He describes my car as world class and they have agreed to advertise it strongly and worldwide in their spring sale. He's so confident he said he would advertise and auction for free. Very, very nice of him. The second was an old acquaintance who owns several main dealer franchises in Scotland and who has one of the best private car collections. I only intended asking his advice on pricing and was a bit shocked to find me being offered a cheque to buy my MG and my motorcycle. He wanted both and the price was very, very, very close to my asking price. I'm very grateful to him for confirming the cars worth but I couldn't bear to part with them together and so the car will be advertised at the auction house reserve until their spring auction. If you doubt the price search on the internet MGB red, £28999 and see what that will buy you elsewhere. There is another on sale at that price. This is an opportunity to buy one of the best MGs on the market at the moment and, as the auctioneers say, they've never seen better. All I can do is tell the truth about my car and let people make up their own mind after viewing. I've never, ever regretted paying more for best but have often regretted paying a pound or two less. If you're in the market for an MGB the price will soon be forgotten during those balmy summer days of car shows, folding paper road maps, little tea rooms, parking the car so it can be seen from little tea rooms, Morris dancers get too close to your bonnet (smile, it's amusing, isn't it ?), drives through the cotswolds, runny ice cream, small passengers with runny ice cream (keep smiling) hundreds and thousands falling on newly hoovered, pure wool carpets (getting difficult now, don't grimace), picnics, wasps, rusty, musty old thermos flasks, speckled hen in plastic tumblers, spilling speckled hen on hundreds and thousands (no need to keep up the smile now, this is the worst day ever) brass bands playing, dogs getting a little too close to your polished wheels, rushing to cover the car during rainstorms, being pushed out of muddy fields and just chatting to other enthusiasts and, at the end of the day, maybe even taking home a little trophy or two but I love it all.I did some videos of the car in the move yesterday for others who expressed an interest this week. Please ask and I'll send them to you.I know this has been a long read but it's an important car and, for most of us, a considered purchase, it's only right I spent time letting you know every detail.
