THIS CAR WAS RETRIEVED FROM A DRY SHED IN DEVON, AFTER BEING OWNED BY THE MOTHER OF A GARAGE PROPRIETOR FOR ALL ITS LIFE.

IT HAS A FASCINATING BACK STORY AND LOTS OF PAPERWORK. IT HAS HAD TYRES, BATTERY, BRAKES AND SERVO REPLACED AND IS CURRENTLY ROADWORTHY, A “ROLLING RESTORATION” PROJECT IF YOU WISH.

For sale is my December 1962 Rover 110 P4 with overdrive. Top of the 1962 Rover range and now just 53800 miles on the odometer. That's less than 1,000 miles a year. The paintwork is poor but the underlying bodywork and structure are in excellent condition in my opinion. The backstory is as follows. It was purchased new for a customer in 1962 by the Uffculme Garage Devon but he returned it very soon after purchase. The garage owner kept it and after a while it became his Mother's runabout and was maintained meticulously of course by him until his Mother's death. It was then stored in a dry shed until rediscovered about two years ago when he himself died and the garage land was disposed of.

The 53800 miles seems genuine and in accordance with the documents, including a full record of petrol purchased and lots of old MOT's. The paintwork and interior are shabby but useable. It has now had five new tyres, new battery, new brake shoes, new servo unit, engine serviced and oils renewed so that it is now roadworthy and it comes with a big file of paperwork, the workshop manuals and various original brochures. For a 60-year-old car it is in great condition but cosmetically challenged.

Reason for sale = too many cars and not enough space.

It will have a new MOT upon full purchase or payment of a £100 deposit.
