I bought this car as a bit of fun because my father owned one when I was a lad. In the five years that I have owned it I have spent a lot of time bringing it back to excellent all round condition. It is of course 45 years old so like most of us it shows its age in places but all in all she is in fine condition. Knowing the weak points on these cars I avoided examples with poor under body condition. I dare say that a dedicated enthusiast could take this car to the next level but for me it has been something to polish and look upon with pride. It certainly makes people smile when out driving and tends to receive attention when I park it up. The body work is very good with the odd rust bubble/mark here and there; there is an old so-so repair on the F/N/S wing near the indicator that I never bothered reinstating. This does not detract from the excellent all round condition. The exhaust is stainless steel and the engine and gearbox are fine. No strange coloured exhaust fumes or clunky gearbox changes I have had this car 5 years during which she has lived under cover. only venturing out on dry days. Each year she has gone straight through the MOT. In caring for this vehicle I have carried out the following work - oil flush. oil and filter changes. auto box fluid/filter changed. heating hoses replaced. eplaced the fuel and air filters. new pulley belts and spark plugs. new battery. new gearbox seals. windscreen replaced (chip in the old one)and new rubber screen seal fitted. I can leave this car stand for 3 months turn the key and the old V8 roars into life then gurgles away merrily. As you will see from the photos the tyres are in excellent condition. I have the V5 document and current MOT as well as various receipts for the parts I purchased plus some from the previous owner. There are also MOT certs going back to 2005. The mileage reads at 12. 73 so I suppose that it must be 112273 but it doesn't show in the mechanics and with the age of the car it is more about how well she has been looked after. Being registered in 1968 the road tax is free and I only pay £70 per year fully comprehensive insurance. An affordable indulgence but one that I must say goodbye to seeing as I need the space for another car to play with. This is not your usual tired old vehicle billed as a classic. It is a well built British classic with lots of life left in her.
