1948 ROVER-12 TOURER (grey)

Navy leather interior. br/>
The Post War Rover-12 Tourer was built between. 1947 & 1948 with a mere 200 cars being built; unlike the pre war cars. these 200 had bodies by Tickford & are in good order. highly sought after.

Of the 200 built. it is thought that around 50% have survived worldwide; this example that we have for sale is the number 109 to leave the factory.

All matching numbers. benefitting from a massive history file. all handbooks. instruction manual. photographs. loads of MOT's. details on nut & bolt restoration. all documented. WE HAVE JUST DONE SOME SERIOUS DETAILING ON THIS CAR AND IS NOW SHOW CONDITION

Finished in pearl grey & blue hyde. all wood dash with wooden toolbox. The car is equiped with the 1496 cc inline four cylinder engine. which is mated to a four speed manual transmission.

Drives exceptionally well. it is always regularly used on sunny days. full set of weather gear. which includes a snug fitting hood & side screens.

This is a very rare oportunity to buy. brilliant british engineering at its best.

This is a very gorgeous little Tourer at pure value for money. when you compare it to similar cars. near the hundred thousand pound mark.

Test driving this car is essential. It is a very usable Vintage car and will keep up with modern traffic at the same time. stopping the traffic!

Hello is the car still for sale?

from John Owen, dated 26 april 2018
Hi Norman,

Is this the original colour? What work has been done on the engine and when? Any idea what size pistons are fitted? How many miles are actually on the car? Does this tie in with the MOTs? Photos of stages in the restoration? What is the lowest offer you would accept?
Thanks. Regards
John

Hi Norman,
I've watched this car for several years and it always seems to sell well under its estimate or stick for ages or get passed on quickly. As a Rover 'expert' restorer I am still searching for the reason. Any idea? I used to live in Chapel-en-le-Frith but am many miles away now.
Regards
John
