Era Classics are excited to offer for sale on behalf of a customer this iconic Golf cabriolet by Karmann.

A superb example that has aged exceptionally well and is a credit to it's previous owners. This factory black (LO41) example has excellent paint work and all panels have a deep shine, appear nice and straight, with no signs of corrosion. All cills, wheel arches, valances, bottoms of doors, scuttles, front screen frame and bonnet etc appear good and show no signs of the usual neglect these Golfs tend to have suffered.

Interior is also lovely, all plastics, door trims, clocks, handles etc are all in excellent order and there are no speaker holes or modifications other than a non standard but period correct Blaupunkt radio cassette player.

Seats are in very good order overall with the the usual wear and tear to the drivers bolster but this is minimal and all seats remain original and untouched. All glass also appears to be stamped original units.

Everything works and the electrically operated hood operates as it should. The hood was a new mohair one fitted in 2010 and is in superb condition with the fabric all in good order.

Top end engine work completed in 2018 including, reface cylinder head, valve guides, stems, seals pressure test.

Recent service work has been done and the last MOT advisories have all been taken care of.

The car has had both new front shocks replaced and exhaust re aligned.

New factory correct headlights and wipers repaired. Brake pipes replaced as corroded and ball joint cover replaced. The engine bay is clean and has been looked after with service items replaced accordingly. Le Castellet 14” Wheels have been recently refurbished with virtually new tyres.

Really nice history file including the original grey book pack and the added bonus of the stamped service maintenance book as well as old MOT's and 

invoices for work completed over it's lifetime. 

Overall this is a superb Golf Cabriolet that drives excellent and retains lots of nice originality and is a great example to enjoy and not worry about spending anything more than regular service work. It drives with nice pace, excellent (new short shift) gear changes and no knocks or rattles. 

It really is a fun car to drive, especially enjoying classic B roads with the roof down and is now ready to be appreciated in all it's glory by the next owner.
