Just in time for spring cruise ins and club meets or just long drives. here is your chance to own a unique MGB that will put a smile on your face.

Just before Leyland stopped making the MG. they introduced the MGB V8 in Europe in the coupe. It used the Rover 215 aluminum V8 that actually weighs about 40 pounds less than the 4 cylinder. You MG guys know the story.

I purchased this 79 specifically for a V8 transplant as the engine bay is already set up for it. As part of the deal I traded away a completely rebuilt engine and overdrive transmission with about 500 miles on them. The previous owner had the car repaired. rebuilt. repainted and replaced where needed to make it almost new. It did not have a top or interior when I got it. I have a stack - and I do mean stack of old receipts from him to compliment my book of receipts. Tires. brakes. gas tank. fuel lines. suspension bushings etc have about 500 miles on them from previous owner.

The engine is a professionally installed completely rebuilt Rover 215 V8 making about 210HP. It has Egge pistons. Crower cam and lifters. Eldebrock carb. Petronics ignition. RV8 ceramic coated headers. new dual exhaust all the way back. Completely rebuilt Ford 5 speed T5 world class transmission with new clutch and lightened flywheel with McLeod hydraulic throw out bearing and accessories such as D&D aluminum radiator and so on. New battery. Too much new to remember. About 150miles on it and it just had its break in oil change.

Before the engine transplant. I installed a Moss lowering kit with new springs and have dearched the rear springs which are new by the previous owner. I also added a chrome bumper kit and grill for the right vintage look. Paint and body work for the bumper kit was professionally done. A pic of the valve cover shows where I put a crinkle coat on and had an engraver make emblems.

The interior is finished with a PJM (England) leather interior kit and carpeting. You can sit in those seats all day! The steering wheel is wood and alloy from Watford Motors . also in England. The radio has an SD card that I loaded with MG logos that really get attention at shows. Also included is the original radio. The trunk has a brand new spare and is finished with a Moss carpet kit. The top is a brand new Stayfast canvas style with a matching Stayfast cover for when it is down.

Everything works including the clock. The only thing that I know that doesn't work are the self canceling turn signals. I've got the pin for that. Unlike normal British cars it does NOT mark it's territory by dripping any fluids.

Some of the pics are from last summer when the weather was nice. Ignore details that show the 2 into 1 Borla exhaust. it has true dual exhausts with slash cut chrome tips as shown on the lift. Also ignore the part of some pics that show the old overdrive 4 speed transmission. There is a pic of the shifter that stirs the 5 speed. Also there is a good pic on the lift but it  shows the Moss lowering blocks in the rear. Those have been removed and the springs have been dearched so it sits just right.

If you have 0 feedback. send me an email. You will need to put down a $200 bidder's deposit. If you win you can send me the other $300 deposit at the close of the auction. If you don't win. I will refund your deposit. Bidders with good feedback and some history this isn't needed.

Sir,

I have no interest in an auction or sending a deposit to someone on the internet that I don't know. You could be Nigerian! What would it take for me to buy the car? I have a restored 73 that I was considering converting but I know that it would take a lot of work due to the size of the engine bay. Let me know please.
