OK here goes: A RHD car is truly beautiful and super clean condition outside. inside. underneath and everywhere! I believe everything to be very original specification except the period BRM alloy wheels (which were already on the car). The car also has been slightly lowered but this has not affected the ride quality at all and it still rides softly. The was converted to 12V and it has always starts first turn of the key. Everything works perfect and the car drives and sounds as you would expect. I brought the car a few years ago from the UK and have only given it much love and care since its been in my possession. It has always been dry stored and little used except on special days. I would say I have added only 400 miles since its been with me! The car came into the UK many years ago and was shipped from South Africa it may have been a car from Zimbabwe I understand but cannot be 100% sure. sorry!
When I got the car it needed a bit of love so I have cleaned and tidied under the hood. the petrol tank came out and I used POR15 inside (not that it needed it). The car was put on a J roller and all the underneath was cleaned down and hand painted. it is still super clean and shines underneath as I have used the car little and not in the wet. There was only very light layer of dust etc. The 12V conversion was good but the wiper motor used a voltage reducer which I was not happy with so we fitted the proper 12V armature that I sourced from WolfsburgWest as well as some new rubber parts from West Coast Metric and some parts from KG Parts all of whom are based in the USA.
This car was super clean (a bit dusty in places) but I have used Dinitrol and Waxoyl in all the cavities including sills. wheel arches. vent areas. front and rear valances etc. I really wanted to future proof this car where I could so these fluids were squirted. sparyed and hand painted everywhere I could think of!
The electrics were untidy when I got it so all the wires and connections were replaced and the lights. brake lights. plate lights. indicators are all now super bright and trouble free - those twin horns make me jump everytime!
The bumpers were a bit pitted and lacked lustre so these were professionally (triple) re-chromed in the UK and look superb now. At the same time we replaced metal bolts with stainless etc. etc. I wanted to do everything as best as I could and as I intended this car to be a keeper for my small collection - I also have a few Beetles and some other cars. errr too many cars in fact!

As far as I know the was restored some years ago and all the work is clearly to a very high standard. The paintwork and interior is superb and has the really nice quality (German?) square weave carpets. The colour is a light tan and it sits really well with the pale blue and cream paintwork. The windows and trims are all perfect and the back windows pop open for extra air flow. The seats are very comfortable and well padded and at a squeeze I guess 4 adults could fit but I think that the back seats are only for kids or emergencies - at least its possible to cram people in the back of this coupe!

Are there any bad points: At some point I would like to re-paint the seat frame sides. handbrake and gearstick.

There is so much more I could write but time is against me so I will add some more things later and as I think of them. Please understand that I am not desperate to sell the car but if there's someone out there that is looking for a really solid and mostly original RHD Karmann Ghia then I doubt that many like this still exist. From what I can see there are some nice Californian LHD's out there and you may well save a few ££'s but I doubt that there are any RHD's so "lush" as this one. I am putting the car on the market but wont be at all sad if there are no takers as I will just keep it and enjoy it on those nice lazy summer days!

By the way the car was a bit dusty when I quickly took the photo's yesterday and it could have done with a nice clean but was behind a few others so not fully accessible. so if you see any spots or marks they are just that!!!

IMPORTANT NOTE: The car is now in Guernsey in the Channel Islands and I appreciate that you may well want to see and view the car before purchasing that is fine and I would welcome any genuine viewing or any inspection. Getting to Guernsey is easy and should cost no more than £80 each way (maybe less) and typically flight times are only around 35 mins. You can fly in/out from Gatwick. Stansted. Southampton. Glasgow. Manchester and Birmingham and we have fast daily car ferries running back to the UK so please don't think we are a million miles away. if you want a car like this then its worth the trip and I'll collect you at the airport to save a taxi ride!!
There should be no VAT to pay upon re-importing the car into the UK as the VAT is/was already paid. The cars registration number is not included with the car and I will re-register it and fit new plates before any handover.

I am not in a panic to sell (and its Christmas after all!) so take your time as you wish - I am here for the coming weeks so can happily discuss anything with you. I am here to help! Please note that the car is not sold until the buyer hands over the money so please do not expect me to hold the car on a promise.

My name is Chris and my mobile is 07781 134455 - you can call me (I am a real human) and ask anything but please bear in mind the time of year as I have a family with 2 young kids so may not be able to answer the phone always - I will try my best!!

Hi I have a Ghia I’m restoring for my wife and was hoping you have the paint codes for the blue and cream on this car?
Best and thank you.
