1969 JAGUAR E-TYPE SERIES II 2

DAB 26H was manufactured on the 24th June 1969 and supplied new by P. J Evans. Birmingham. The car left the factory in Cream with Black leather upholstery and today is still in its original colours with original registration mark and matching chassis and engine numbers.

Our E-Type has covered 82000 miles from new and has arrived with us in outstanding condition. This is an exceptional car that was subject of a top class rolling restoration between 1983 and 1986 resulting in the car winning several prizes at JDC events during the late 1980's and 1990's. The comprehensive history details a body restoration that included new panels and all chrome work was replaced. The engine was stripped down and treated to a re-bore. new pistons. bearings. crankshaft regrind and new gaskets. Since this major engine work the E-Type has covered in the region of 10. 00 miles and we have MOT certificates dating back to 1982 confirming the car has covered 30. 00 miles in the past 31 years.

The E-Type only had two owners between 1982 and 2009. selling to the last owner in 2009 with a mileage of 76200 miles. Since 2009 DAB 26H has had almost £17. 00 on making this E-Type absolutely top class to drive. The car was sent to a Southern England Jaguar specialist for substantial work to include a full front suspension rebuild consisting of new ball joints. dampers and polyurethane bushes. The steering system was overhauled with a new steering rack. mounts. rod ends and column bushes. The SU carburettors were rebuilt and the brakes overhauled with new front and rear discs and pads. all new brake hoses and new handbrake pads and cable. The differential was overhauled and the IRS rebuilt and new parts include a propshaft. half shafts. new bearings. bushes and fulcrum. Further improvement were made with a new alternator. new drive belts. heater valve. voltage regulator. fuel pump. fuel tank gaskets. accelerator pedal bushes. fan thermostat. coil. electronic distributor a new set of Vredestein tyres. The cylinder head was removed and sent to Rob Beere Racing for bronze valve guides. cut and lapped valve seats. re-bored tappet guides. re-facing and new valves and tappets. The engine also benefits from new timing chains. new camshaft bearings and buckets and cam followers. Since this mechanical work the E-Type has covered just a few thousand miles and it is simply outstanding on the road. As expected after £17. 00 of recent work. the car is faultless to drive with perfect handling. braking and steering. The engine is wonderful with superb oil pressure and excellent performance. The four speed gearbox is a delight with lovely smooth changes and perfect synchromesh. The overall driving experience is sensational. this is truly superb driving E-Type.

DAB 26H presents beautifully with a superb straight bodyshell and smart. top quality older paintwork that still retains a stunning deep shine. The chrome work is excellent and the chrome wire wheels have been recently replaced. The inner arches are detailed. the underside of the car excellent and the engine bay is smartly presented with an excellent. nicely painted bulk head and space frame. The interior has a lovely combination of new and original and the black leather seats show this has never been a bad car. Carpets and the headlining have been replaced and the overall condition of the interior is very smart. The interior lights work. all the gauges work and the Webasto sunroof is in excellent condition. On the whole. this is a fabulous buy and one of the sharpest. superb driving and well presented 2+2 models we have owned in recent years.
