1968 Porsche 912 RHD REG RWC Great Condition in Loddon, VIC for sale

1968 Porsche 912 Coupe.

Right hand drive. Vic registered. Road worthy condition. Will supply Road worthy certificate for Victorian buyer.

Rare Short wheel base Porsche coupe. Presents very nicely. Up close paint is probably 6 out of 10. Interior is 9 out of 10.

New Carpet. Re-trimmed original seats. Period correct momo steering wheel. (original steering wheel included)

Also included is the original steel wheels and chrome hubcaps.

Drives beautifully. Gets plenty of admiration.

Gearbox is tight. Gear selectors are great. This is the 4 speed manual. 4th gear is the same ratio as 5th gear on the 5 speeds so there is no highway speed penalty. In fact the 4 speed with the taller gears is more user friendly to use around city driving.

Engine starts cold with no drama. Has plenty of power considering its a 4cyl and doesn't blow smoke. Cruises at highway speeds easily. I have chased a contemporary Porsche 911 (997) at speeds around 160 which felt fine and solid on the road. ( and surprised the bloke in the $200. 00 Porsche)

If you're not familiar with what a 912 is. it's just a Porsche 911 body and interior combined with the 4 cylinder 1. 6 litre engine from the discontinued Porsche 356. The corresponding Porsche 911 had a 6 cylinder 2. 0 litre.

The 1968 911 version in this sort of condition is now an $80+thousand dollar car. (for 0. 4 lire extra)

Is it a poor man's 911? Maybe. In which case. if you think that. this car is not for you. Save harder. go buy a 911.

Is it a fun. gorgeous little sports car. in an iconic shape that's super fun to drive and attracts smiles everywhere you go? Yes.

Can anybody who knows his way around a VW Beetle maintain or work on it? Yep. Very economic to own and run.
