1957 Chevrolet 4 Door Sedan in Mid-North Coast, NSW

1957 Chevrolet 210 4 Door Sedan Body Identification No: 57-104B-1090 Engine Number No: 4R131524. I purchased the car in 1982 and it was fully restored by myself with help from family (brother is a qualified spray painter) and back on the road in March 1983. The car has always had full registration. not Vintage Rego. This is not a forced sale but due to other hobbies and projects the car has had very limited use over the last 15 years so it was decided to sell it for someone else to enjoy its charm rather than just have it sitting in the garage. This is an original right hand drive. Fisher body which was assembled in Australia. This makes for safe driving on the Australian roads. not like the influx of cheap left hand drive American assembled cars that are currently on our roads or are for sale. The engine is a 6 cylinder “Blue Flame” 235 cubic inch motor. It currently has a Stromberg carburettor with an adjustable main jet. fitted but with the original air cleaner. It also has a Flash Lube – Valve Saver Lubrication system fitted. The transmission is a three speed column shift. The brakes are drum brakes. The exterior is painted in Acrylic which makes repairs and touch ups possible. The rear passenger side quarter panel was resprayed approx 7 years ago and needs redoing. The exterior colour is Midnight Blue which is a Jaguar colour with the interior painted with a Volvo red. The engine bay was sprayed with black Acran. The upholstery is still from the 1982 restoration. The front seat is a full bench seat which also can be moved forward and fully laid back to make a bed in the car. Wheels & Tyres – 14 inch wheels 5 stud and the tyre wear is good. Pump up shocks are fitted. Things you need to know:- • the speedo cable does not work • the radio has been replaced with a radio/cassette which doesn't work the best. however the speaker is still original • tow bar fitted • there are some cracks in the paint work. these are located on the back of the passenger side rear quarter as well as along the ridge of the passenger rear quarter • a crack is located in the paintwork near the boot seal on the bottom passenger side. • a small crack in the metal at the boot seal • the number plates will not be sold with the car • registration expires 31 March 2014 • 2 spare rear windscreens will also go with the car • the car was featured in “Wheels” magazine.
