This much loved Daimler has bills totalling £16000 in the last 10 years. this includes a full engine rebuild by Russ Carpenter of Guildford in 2010@ 86075 miles plus various other mechanical improvements at a cost of £5400. In addition to this there are also bills for new shock absorbers. water pump. front and rear brake discs pads and callipers hoses and servo. electronic ignition system. new horns. new tyres. electric fan. ater hoses. il pressure sender unit. heater pump. track rods. complete rubber seal set. gearbox mounts and bushes. stainless steel exhaust. total underbody underseal. new carpets and underlay. new headlining and sun visors. more modern XJ leather reclining front and rear seats. refurbished woodwork. brightwork rechromed (£1200) and body rectification and paint (£2300)
The engine is absolutley perfect. superb oil pressure. no smoke on start up. smooth powerful and that lovely V8 sound through a stainless steel exhaust. I also have 2 DVDs showing the body refurbishment and the engine rebuild.
