FORD ANGLIA FIA Spec. 1200 SUPER with HTP PAPERS - RACING CAR - NOW WITH SPARE 1500 ENGINE
THIS CAR HAS HAD A NO EXPENSE SPARED GROUND UP RESTORATION AND WAS REBUILT TO FIA 1175 HOMOLOGATION SPECIFICATION.
IT WAS BUILT TO RACE IN THE U2TC RACES AND OTHER APPENDIX 'K' RACES
WHAT AN EXCITING CAR.

This car was originally a rally car and won many events in the hands of Patrice Wattine and others. It was then raced within the HSCC - Dunlop Thermex championships before a complete strip and rebuild.

The car is fully seam welded and has a stiffened and strengthened floor to take the roll cage.
The car was then taken back to bare metal and bead blasted underneath to remove all previous paint.

Brand new original Ford steel wings were purchased at £1000 and new door shut panels were welded in to get the newly re-skinned doors to fit the body apertures with the correct gaps. The rear corners were then fitted with brand new panels.

The car was then hand finished over four weeks and sprayed inside and underneath. The doors with their new skins were then fitted with a brand new window kit and new laminated windscreen. Once the inside was sprayed a new headlining was fitted and the rear and door cards were fitted before the roll cage went in. The car was then treated to a full realignment of the front panel and the brand new steel wings the bonnet was left standard as was the boot lid.

Having gapped the panels as best we could. the whole car was treated to a paint and this was baked on. The car was then buffed and polished to its very high finish and all the bright trim fitted.

The dashboard is as per the original car with the addition of an electronic rev counter. extra large oil warning light and the car starts with its original key in the orIginal ignition switch. All the lights. wipers windscreen washers and horn work and the car is SORN'ed but has a current MOT and is roadworthy if you put road tyres on it. An MSA/FIA compliant rain light is fitted as is an electric fan and a brand new fire extinguisher system. The fuel pump is independently switched too. The racing seat is suitable for HANS Device and that seat and the belts fitted are 'in date' and comply with FIA/MSA regs.

Original Lotus steel 5. 5J rims were sourced - they were checked for true and over forty wheels were purchased and most rejected until I had five true wheels fitted up and balanced with Dunlop CR65 'L' section appendix 'K' tyres these are on the car now.

The suspension was modified within FIA regs and corner weighted by Alan Dent. New bearings. seals and flexible brake pipes were fitted. All brake parts were replaced or refurbished using new parts along with new dampers all round and FIA compliant disc brakes to the front legs. The brakes are superb and progressive.

The gearbox has a close ratio set of gears fitted and works perfectly - a brand new racing clutch is also fitted as are new bearings and seals.

The engine fitted is a DAMICO 1200cc engine built to strict FIA specification. (Full set of pictures available on request - I also have a video showing the initial Dyno runs where the engine was built and Dyno proved and tuned before being put in the car). This engine is currently limited at 7500rpm for longevity but is built to rev out at 8500 rpm. giving approx 130BHP - Run up Dyno sheet avaliable on request.

All parts in the engine are brand new. balanced and the block and head intensively worked on. the cam is specially chosen to make the car drivable and to give a good spread of power. indeed the car is steerable on the throttle through the bends and is a joy to drive.

The current exhaust is a 105db system designed and fitted by Alan Dent and works well. Since building the car I have now prepared it for the Spa six hours race and other long distance events by putting in a 12 gallon tank which is foam filled and FIA compliant.
