Triumph TR5 barn find restoration project

For sale is our Triumph Tr5 restoration project. The car was bought by us in 2017 with the intention of finishing it but due to buying an e type and Mercedes pagoda we now feel we won't get round to giving this car the attention it deserves, so it's time to pass it on to someone who will.As seen from the photos the tub has been previously dipped and painted in primer, as have most of the panels, this costs over £1000.00 to have done, so a good saving on time and money for the new owner. The tub needs welding as the previous owner has had ‘a go' but most of it needs re doing.The wings are all repairable as they probably fit better than reproduction ones, but that is up to the new owner.The original doors are with the car and need new door skins, but these are available at sensible prices.The chassis is in excellent condition, but as the previous owner has hand painted it it really needs blasting and spray painting to make a better job of it.The chassis has had all new bushes when it was previously restored but if it was me I would re do them.The engine has been reconditioned, there are lots of photos and bills of work carried out, but we have obviously not had it running.There is an overdrive gearbox fitted (as per the heritage certificate states it had). Also an oil cooler has been added.The car comes with its hood frame, but obviously it needs a new hood which are available in all colours and materials.There are many boxes of bits with the car and we think from looking it is 90% complete.The only things we think it needs is a front panel (although the original alloy grill is there) and a repair to the windscreen surround will be needed or a new one sourced.Original bumpers are with the car but need work.Dashboard and dials are all present but may need restoring.Some parts will need to be sourced but this is a great starting point for a very desirable car.Comes with heritage certificate and V5 in my name, and also a stack of old bills and photos.Viewing welcome and advised.We have a collection of triumphs and other old cars, so please don't insult us with stupid offers or questions, we know our way around these cars and know their prices and we are not desperate to sell it, if it doesn't get sold, we may even get around to restoring it ourselves.Cash on collection or bank transfer preferred.
