Sadly sense must prevail and I must reluctantly sell my recently acquired 1969 Lotus Elan s4 se factory drop-head black badge car. in order that I can concentrate on the restoration of my Porsche 911 instead! I purchased the car a few months ago from the previous owner who had owned it for 25 years. enjoying it in his youth then moth balling it for a number of years before having re-commissioning work amounting to £18580. 15 carried out which was completed in September 2011. At this point. the car had already had a replacement spyder chassis fitted but the works involved removing the body from the chassis then removal of engine. gearbox. interior. suspension etc. It then had all new brakes. new high torque starter. partial engine rebuild. new fuel lines fuel tank etc. new radiator. new dynamo. new Rotoflex couplings. new rear dampers. new stainless exhaust and manifold. new headlamps pods. new battery. numerous trim items. full set of tyres etc etc the list goes on as you can imagine it would for such large expenditure! When I purchased the car unfortunately. I found it to have a bit of a smoking habit so I had the cylinder head rebuilt (after being pressure tested) including new inlet valves. all new valve guides. head skim and re-shimming of valve clearances. The car has a current MOT and is a highly useable and very smart looking example. However. it does exhibit some minor cracks and micro blistering to the paintwork so in an ideal world a future owner may wish to respray the car but it is certainly still very shiny and useable as is if that was your preferred option. Its other downside is the condition of the veneer on the dashboard which detracts from the very nice condition of the rest of the interior which also sports a new hood. As you can see. the car is offered with no reserve and I am happy to answer any genuine enquiries via ebay messages and suggest you leave your phone number via this service so I can contact you to answer any questions. You bid to buy not to arrive and haggle. £500 deposit via paypal within 24 hours by successful bidder. bidders with a feed back of less than 10 please contact before bidding. Thanks and good luckLee
