1969 dodge charger original mopar 318 v8 white hat special se model

Selling due to going in for surgery I will not have time or be able to use or work on the car even after my operation as long recovery for shoulder surgery, its one of them cars that it is only original the once and the option is there to leave as is and enjoy like I  have been doing or take it to a concourse level if that is your desire you will not find a more original charger with documented history.

Probably one of the most sort after American muscle cars of all time. Not to many available in states to compare this too and they are big bucks if I was to replace it buying from states.

Lucky the car has these items as if you know the market parts are on a big back order and hard to source.

Car would want a front valance panel, lower rear quarter drop panels them I do not have .Or as said above leave as is original and just enjoy. The trunk floor is over all ok but would require some attention. The sail panels would want small attention. Underneath the car the frame rails etc appear in good order we have a ramp and any viewing is welcome to see underneath or can provide video's. Will say again no dreamers or time wasters.

Sports center console and 150 mph tick tock dash  wooden steering wheel this car came with a lot of factory options for a small block car.  The car has service history from back in Colorado .

 The car is all original numbers matching car complete with original build sheet and original bill of sale from the dealer , with original dealer sticker on trunk from new at Bill Breck dodge in Colorado Springs Colorado. The interior was told was redone in the 1990's sometime.

 Some history...

The dodge charger was previously imported by a dealer in Sheffield area in 2012. A local guy to us in Corby called Stephen purchased the car and began to buy all the parts and body panels to restore the car. Not long after this I was just finished building a 67 gtx and we tried to come to a deal where he was part ex the charger against the restored gtx in the end we did not come to a deal.

Many years later fast forward to may 2021 the car came to mind again and it was time to try and track Stephen down a few calls later I had his number and a viewing was arranged for that same day. Unfortunately for Stephen his circumstances had changed and had came to a decision to think about advertising the car, in the past many tried to buy the vehicle and failed, Stephen remembered me and said come see the car I felt lucky to be even be able to view the car.

 I knew the car had been sitting for many years and was unsure it even ran anymore. I took a can of fuel and a jump pack. Arriving there we put the jump pack on and turned over without the coil lead and made sure was all good before dropping some fuel direct into the top of the carb. In an instant the engine fired into life with no hesitation at all ,it ran for a few minutes as the tank was empty. We then filled the tank up and for the first time I got to use the very cool nas car gas cap that was fitted to these charges a quick push of the button and petrol cap was open.

Once the fuel was in the tank it took a few minutes for the pump to pull the fuel up then it just sat there idling away . The rest of the car was in bits as the floor pans needed to be finished half the car was in storage and there was a lot of work to do before it could be used on the road. Although Stephen had the car from 2012 to 2021 he did start the car regularly and drove it back and forth to keep things from seizing up. The car was then collected on a low loader by local friends Ricky and Lloyd at cars2go and delivered to our shop.

Work began a short time after and local welder  finished off the floor pans, Stephen had hand made and bead rolled the floor pans to make his own original ones and they fitted very well it was great to see some old school tooling and enthusiasm being used. The floor pans have been left in vare metal no sealer or paint so can see all welds etc nothing is hidden.

Once the floor pans were in a new carpet was fitted and all the interior cleaned and put back in. The car was gone through top to bottom by us and with some help from American car specialist Nathan Bovingdon the car was all serviced and put back on the road. The car has ran well and retains most of its original components under the hood.

The alternator , top water hose. voltage regulator and starter relay has been changed to new for reliability. The carb is original and has been rebuilt. Still retains original points and has not been upgrade to electronic ignition. Still has original drum brakes all around all items have been renewed .The car has the original jack and spare wheel all intact in the trunk.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the charger since owning  we took it to santa pod mopar nationals and many other car shows ,it and it has a few features coming up, you will see the car on wheeler dealer tv show in the yellow car club episode coming soon. The car has just been shot by classic cars magazine for a dream drive feature.

The car is of age as in 1969 this is not new, please do not expect new yes you can see it has rust but over all a good solid car. Anyone that knows me knows this is my dream car and I have to be realistic in my circumstances of surgery and recovery period and its not a straight forward operation so decided to let this one go.
