For sale is my 1940 ford flathead V8 regular truck for restoration.

This truck is very very very original. even down to the radio and speaker.

The truck was used on a farm in South Dakota during the sugar beet harvest and then stored under cover for the rest of the year. hence its remarkable condition and originality

There are only two very small areas of rust. one rear quarter of the cab measuring approx. 4 inches square and the other is about the same size in the passenger side foot well. The rest of the truck is as solid as the day it was built. If you look carefully you can still see the original black chassis paint on parts of the chassis.

It has a clean title and all duties have been paid. but it has not been registered in the UK. This will need to be done by the new owner and is a very simple process. I have all the correct paper work.

The truck is both MOT and tax exempt.

The truck was ordered with the very rare deluxe grill.

The truck also has the two speed shift rear axle

I have not been able to run the engine this year. It comes with spare complete flathead V8 too. This is the exact same 95bhp engine as in the truck. A very rare find.

A new 6 volt generator also comes with the truck.

The truck comes with various workshop manuals covering all the things you would need to restore. rebuild. maintain and run it.

Still in the USA are the following; all have been paid for including the shipping to the UK. but will need collecting from either London or Southampton docks:

Bench seat complete base and back and brackets and bolts

Hood hinges and bolts

Hood hinge support from the hood

Driver's door inspection panel

Rear license plate holder

Hood latch and mechanism

A set of rear duel wheels and chassis and axle. springs. brakes etc. etc. etc. A complete chassis with all drive train cut about 2 feet in front of the front spring hanger

Rear bumper from a period ford truck.

Large 1940 period truck mirrors. both passenger and drivers sides

2 wheel rims. one front and one rear to be used as spares

Spare left and right wheel lugs

Spare left and right inner duel wheel lugs

Running boards from a 1940 ford truck. but as long as possible. This was to extend the current running boards more towards the rear duel wheels

Period rear wheel arches to cover both sets of duel wheels

A 12 volt starter motor

The two pieces of chrome that are off the side of the hood

A pair of front fender marker lights with the eye brows

The two fixings from the ends of the rubber brake hoses that go into the front brake cylinder. They just screw into the end of the rubber brake hose and then into the cylinder

Also the brass square units that join the metal rear brake pipe to the rear cylinders and the bolts too. and also the square brass units that join the rubber rear brake hoses to the steel rear brake pipe.

A 12 volt generator

A rebuilt carb. One that has 59 on the casing.

A generator mounting bracket from the top of the engine

A rebuild kit for another carb.

A set of generator and fan belts

Centre x members

Running board brackets

Most of the above where bought to convert the truck to a tag axle. i. e. twin rear axles. We bought the truck to convert it into a catering trailer to use alongside our Restaurant business. If you have classic race car it would make the most fantastic race car transporter.

The rest has been bought as spares for the things you cannot find new or reproduced any more.

If I have forgotten to mention any parts they will be included in the sale as I clear out the workshop and find things.

You are most welcome to come and view the truck. Please just me to arrange a suitable day and time. or if you have any other questions please call me on 07515 854 449

NO time wasters. Genuine inquiries only
