People often ask us what the next big thing will be in the classic car world. many people. including myself. believe the very early Pre HE V12 XJS Coupes will be on that list. Even today there are very few left. most having been scrapped already and a Black Plate XJS is a rare sight on the roads. a manual version even more so. Our car here is a 1977 XJS V12 in White with Dark Blue Leather interior. It has covered a genuine 26. 00 Miles from new with its 3 previous owners. It is in a very good original condition. although the car has been repainted. it is not a concours restoration. just in keeping with conserving an old car on the road! The interior is amazing and the car just smells and feels right. These early cars. with no chrome or wood inside are a very different beast to a later XJS. This car left the factory with an Auto gearbox but very early on was converted to the correct 4 speed manual. making this an even more enticing offering! This car was sold new by Henlys in Coventry to a Miss Shaughnessy of Birmingham. she only covered 6000 miles in the first two years. setting a benchmark for the low miles. the car being taken off the road in the mid Eighties. We have the original passport to service and owners handbook with the car.

With E-Type sales falling and an outright ban on convertibles looming in its most important export market the USA Jaguar addressed the problem of defining its successor as the 1960s drew to a close. Code named XJ27. the car that would evolve into the XJ-S was styled by Malcolm Sayer. the man responsible for the E-Type. under the fatherly eye of Jaguar boss. Sir William Lyons. Conceived as a comfortable and long-legged Grand Routier. rather than an out-and-out sports car like the preceding E-Type. the XJ-S made use of the Jaguar XJ6/XJ12 saloon platform and running gear. Shorter in the wheelbase than its saloon siblings. the XJ-S debuted at the 1976 Frankfurt Motor Show as a V12-powered coupé. with six-cylinder and soft-top versions following in the 1980s. the expected ban on open cars having failed to materialise.

This may be the last example in a good condition you will see for many years to come. The mileage is amazing. the colours are perfect. the owners are low. the Manual Gearbox is a real rarity. t has a long MOT and is ready for its next owner.
