My TR6 CUK 41J Manufacturer: Triumph Colour: Red Model: TR6 Engine Size: 2. 98 cc straight six with OD. Type: Sports/Convertible Power: 150 Seats: 2 Doors: 2 MOT Expiry: July 2014 Model Year: 1970 Reg. Date: 01 Jun 1970 Road Tax: April 2014 FREE I have owned this car for over 4 years now and it has been very enjoyable car to own. It has never broken down on me and still continues to put a smile on my face as I drive it-a real head turner. I have. as any classic car enthusiast does continued to keep it on the road. I have an A4 folder full of receipts and purchases. In my time I have poly bushed the rear end including differential and front anti roll bar with new brackets-I will include the rest of the kit for new buyer. front track rods. electronic ignition. new injector pipes. had injectors cleaned and calibrated. new O rings and body seats. New oil pipe sender. new discs and pads. wheel bearings. fan belt changed and spare in situ. I have an immobilizer fitted. regular oil changes and diff. Seals on clutch slave and pedal rubbers. there is a stereo fitted but can be removed in about 5 minutes-not bolted in as I didn't want to cut the dash to bits. Cockpit chrome rings and screws-looks amazing. There is loads that I have forgot but come and see her and you will spot them. Over drive still works fine and helps with everyday driving. always garaged as well. This is a great motor and the only issues are a couple of small oil leaks. the passenger side door at the bottom is starting to bubble and rust is starting. drivers door a slight couple of bubbles. When I bought the car the fuel pipe lines make a little noise( reverb from pump) but it does not bother me so have left-only a a small job. the horn push is intermittent but hasn't bothered me. There are wear and tear marks as with any car but when polished up she looks great. all the chrome is in great order. Tyres all loads of tread with chrome inserts. I bought this form a chap in London who had a lot done to the car and the original write up is below to show you the extent of work carried out. If you are interested come and have a look. call me. Dave on 07816671251 to ask any questions I bought this car from Russ Conway's driver (if anybody remembers him!) in August 2004 described then as “complete one year rebuild . ooks new. respray. new hood. new carpets. new bumpers £7000 bills from Rimmers” I still have the advert in Classic Cars Weekly in the history file. I had Classic Cars of Kent go through the car from front to back. Further upgrade and improvement work has been ongoing. Including:- New Aeroquip Brake pipes all-round New fuel lines New metering unit New injectors. refurbished injector bodies Spin off oil filter with 13 row oil cooler. Extra oil feed to rockers New extractor exhaust manifold 6-3-2 New twin pipe sports exhaust system New electric cooling fan . not needed as doesn't overheat. New koni shock absorber conversion to rear suspension for firmer handling. New tyres including spare Strengthened diff mountings New Diff New drive shafts New universal joints Reconditioned Brake servo New hoses. new K & N Element box (shiny) new fan New high intensity headlamps More work has been done recently by Kingston Sports Cars including:- new inlet manifolds. new linkage. new injector pipes. rebuilt distributor. In between there has been normal servicing by Quiller. Finally Kingston Sports Cars fitted a modified unleaded gas flowed cylinder head. re-tuned the metering unit. new injector pipes(red). rebuilt injector manifolds and linkage and replaced a drive shaft. New Bosch fuel pump new fuel filter. new fuel line back to front. The engine has literally just been refreshed. cylinders honed. new piston rings. new big end shells. She now goes better than she has ever done. the engine and head are up-rated . he burns no oil. good pressure. smooth power. This is a very fast TR6. Plus I had a further repaint to smarten her up. There is no rust!!!! The chassis is solid . rust free and waxoiled. I hate to think of the total cost but that is the way it goes. So we now have a very honest TR6. Fast reliable very smart. the dash is a class bit of kit. I would not expect anyone to buy a Classic without viewing so here are the further improvements for the future. Tidy up carpet which although new is not fitted well. Most or the interior is also new (door panels. capping etc) Fit new boot interior card (v. cheap) as now we have relocated the fuel pump inside the boot. Don't forget in Overdrive 4th 3000 revs is about 90 mph! A TR6 is a fine fast mile muncher The history file is all there to verify the above. I will not sell this car cheap. I am only selling her because I no longer use her as all my Classic Car efforts are now concentrated in my racing Triumph 2000 Mk 1 Car which I race in the HSCC/HRSR and you can read about in the TSCC Magazine. I am also a member of the TR Register so could not sell a dud car hence the recent engine work.
