MK1 1974 FORD ESCORT 1300E GOLD, LOTUS TWINCAM MEXICO PROJECT

1974 mk1 escort 1300e.  i bought this a complete running car last year. its required some light restoration. however due to ill health. i will be unable to finish it any time soon.  

So far I have removed the vinyl roof to make sure there was no corrosion on the roof panels. which there was none. I then took the interior out to make sure the floors were all ok. which they were as most of the floor panels and inner sills have been replaced to a good standard some time within the last 10 years. (all removed parts can be re-installed for the sale if required. as they have all been bagged an itemized)

The remainder of the body is in fantastic condition. turret tops. heater bowl. wheel arches. boot floor and all the usual places for water to collect all appear to show no signs of corrosion. in general the body just requires rubbing down before paint. the only place that i can see that requires a small patch is on the top of the drivers side wing. shown in the last photo. I don't think it's as bad to warrant changing the wing. as the 1300e have mexico wings a new one will cost quite a lot if you buy the proper wings. wooden trim is in great condition. 6 clock dash seams to work fine. the engine is sweet no smoke or knocks. starts and idles fine.

It's a great starter for a mexico or twin cam replica as it has some of the same panels/kit. i. e. arches and a 6 clock dash for mexico. and the same plus square head lamps for twin cam replica or you could just paint to make a restored standard 1300e

All the chrome work is fine. the trim around the window was removed and wrapped up for re-fitting. I have new clips to go back on along with new window seals of re-installing the windows after paint.

Again if preferred I can refit all the interior prior to the collection. to make delivery easier although I will not be able to put front or rear glass in before paint. but  

Collection only. unless otherwise agreed. I can tow around 100 miles from the Aberdeen area for £1 per mile but please contact me first to confirm

Same rules as normal. no overseas bidders. deposit of £100 to be paid within 24 hours from the end of the auction. collection preferred within a week or so. Cash or bank transfer. all funds to clear before I can let you take the car away.  

Inspections/viewing's welcome. the car is located just outside Turriff. post code AB53 area. I work Monday to Friday 6am -6pm so any time out with would be available.  for those who live far away! additional photos can be taken if you advise what you want me to point the camera at. and I can send them to you via email.
