Technical specifications, photos and description:
Chrome bumper. Tartan Red. Road Tax free. MOT May 2014 (no advisories). in very good overall condition. It underwent a full rebuild in the past and although showing signs of wear in its condition it still represents a good solid and very presentable example which mechanically drives well. This car was one of an elite 1800 or so that went to the MGB 50 celebrations at Blenheim Palace in September 2012 and still retains its show sticker in the windscreen.
Replacement parts fitted by previous owners (some of which are still in great condition) include. vinyl hood. chrome wire wheels. new tyres. full stainless steel exhaust system. radiator. unleaded head. bottom end engine overhaul. replacement wing quarters all round. full internal trim including black vinyl seats. wood dash. Moto-Lita wood steering wheel. king pins. petrol tank. electronic pointless fuel pump. new doors. chrome sill covers. Kenlow electric fan. chrome rocker cover. In my ownership I have fitted a new alternator. new 12V battery. new inertia reel seatbelts. cigarette lighter/aux power point (for sat nav etc) and electronic ignition.
The car starts and runs well and benefits from the overdrive gearbox which works smoothly every time.
The paintwork and chrome looks good. but at closer inspection is starting to showing its age. I think it makes the car look more original in some ways. either way this will be reflected in the price! There are some fine cracks to the bonnet paintwork (not able to show in photos) that are only really noticeable at close quarters. As you can see from the photos the engine bay and boot has been heavily Woxoyled (rustproofed) this is the same for the bodyshell both internally and underside.
If you are looking for a show car then look elsewhere and spend more money. but if you are looking for a presentable and mechanically sound car which is great fun then look no further. Treat yourself to any early Christmas present and get ready for those long days of summer with the thrill of wind in your hair top down motoring.
