In 2002 a new Lord and Master emerged among Bentley's Arnage
mega-saloons. Not only is the Arnage T more expensive and more
powerful than the Arnage Green Label and Red Label models. but it
also claimed the title of world's fastest saloon. as it needs all
but the last two spots on its 170mph speedometer. The Arnage T is
powered by yet another version of 'ye olde' 6. 75 litre Rolls-Royce
V8 engine. whose roots go back to 1959. Treated to what Bentley
described as 'the most thorough re-engineering of its life. it
produces 450 horsepower (as compared with 400 horsepower in the
Arnage Red Label). This prodigious output. besides enabling this
Bentley to reach 168 mph. also sends it from 0 to 60 mph in 5. 5
seconds and to 100 mph a mere eight seconds later. The engine's
most significant change is the switch from a single turbocharger to
one for each bank of cylinders. This makes it more responsive in
most situations. because the smaller turbos spool up faster. Other
changes include the adoption of a 'drive-by-wire' throttle to go
hand-in-glove with Bosch's Electronic Stability Program. which
replaced the Red Label's traction control. A subtle rear spoiler at
the boot lid's trailing edge also enhances high-speed stability. br/>but what really gives this nearly three-ton car its immense poise
is a revised suspension that features 57 percent more roll
stiffness than the Red Label. The car's basic structure is also 10
percent stiffer. which means there are no creaks and squeaks of the
sort that distinguished previous generations of Bentleys.

This 'Black Label' 2003 Bentley Arnage T was supplied new by Jack
Barclay Ltd in London with a number of optional extras including a
sunroof. 19 inch. split rim alloy wheels. turned aluminium
dashboard fascia. shade band to the windscreen. drilled accelerator
and brake pedals and voice activated telephone kit. It is finished
in Silver Storm and has an interior of black leather with the 'B'
wings motif to the seat faces and stitching in Portland. The
odometer reading of 33. 00 miles can be verified by the service
book which shows that the last service was carried out in 2010. br/>less than two thousand miles ago. This Bentley Arnage is
supplied with a V5C registration document. an MoT test certificate
which expires in May 2014 and the handbook pack containing handbook
and service book. This well presented Bentley saloon offers
incredible value for money when considering its original £180. 00
plus price tag.
