I am offering for auction a full UK specification

1959 MGA Twin Cam Roadster finished in Colorado Red with Black interior.

 

This is a unique opportunity to purchase probably the best Twin Cam Roadster available.

 

This lovely home market Twin Cam Roadster was first registered in Southport (Lancs) in June 1959.

The first available owner records show a Mr. Roberts of Abergele from 1969.   The car was stored until 2006 when it was given a full body off restoration by Classic Car Restoration Services in Wales; with full photographic records. Completed in 2008 at a cost of over £20K excluding the engine the mileage shown was 69. 52 and a M. O. T. certificate was issued at that time.

Once again the car was unused until last year when I purchased the car with a view to further improvements.   Bob West the renowned MGA specialist in Pontefract has carried out much work on the car and his advice has been beneficial.

The main improvements have been on mechanical aspects as the body is in excellent condition.   The engine has been converted to unleaded plus new valves. guides and one camshaft replaced.   Carburettors have been rebuilt. starter and dynamo exchanged. and the rebuild completed by Bob West.

Subsequently he installed a 5 speed gearbox by High-Gear Engineering Ltd. which has transformed the car.   The braking system has been overhauled and new special pads fitted throughout including handbrake.

The interior of the vehicle has also had the benefit of the original deluxe type seats being rebuilt (frames powder coated) to the original specification by Bob West. together with new door cards. spare wheel cover and aircraft type seat belts.  

Externally a complete new hood has been fitted. the chrome bumpers have been replaced with new ones. and the wheels powder coated.

 

The current mileage is shown as 69. 90 and this lovely fully sorted Twin Cam drives beautifully with surprisingly lots of torque.
