1935 Daimler 15 Mulliner Saloon vintage wedding bridal car

A very attractive and largely original Daimler 15 Mulliner Saloon. 6 cylinder 2 litre.  which has been sympathetically restored and cared for. extensive history file showing relatively few owners and supporting the mileage of 53667.

It is of course MOT exempt and benefits from zero cost historic road tax

The bodywork is in exceptional condition for a car approaching it's 80th birthday. there are no signs of unsightly patching or crude previous repairs. it is testimony to the quality of Daimler construction and the previous custodians that in our 7 years of ownership we have carried out no bodywork. despite the fact we use all of our wedding fleet throughout the year. chrome is on the whole very good. with a couple of areas principally the rear bumpers which would benefit from a rechrome

Interior. mainly orginal with the main exception being the relatively recent retrimming  of the roof and sunroof in West of England Cloth. the sunroof works well with amazingly no water ingress. the wood cappings and dashboard are very presentable but could be further improved if so desired. the leather is a real highlight being of exceptional quality. the seat bases have been nicely trimmed in a good match to the remainder of the interior. the remainder of the leather including the  leather door cards wear their age well showing consistent signs of ageing but not abuse or distress. carpets are all good.

In the 7 years we have owned this car she has been mainly used for weddings with the occasional outing for pleasure. she has proven to be completely reliable and a pleasure to drive and own. the pre select gearbox is a joy and the engine although giving little power by modern standards is smooth and smoke free. She is very simple to drive and operate and is a perennial favourite with all of our chauffeurs.

Our reason for sale is very simple. we currently have 3 Daimler 15's on the road from our fleet of 33 cars. they do not do enough hires to justify keeping them all. there have been hardly any days this year where we have had them all out on hire. we have 2 long terms projects about to join our fleet for 2014 and need to create space. this is the nicest and most original of the 3

We currently offer this car at a price of £325 and it has proven to be very  popular. I would expect any competent person in an area with a reasonable amount of weddings to be make a return on the car within 2 years. even if you only managed a modest 25 hires per year. We are Scotland's only company to have won the Industry Award twice and will be happy to advise anyone new to wedding hires who wishes to use the car for this purpose.

We are located just south of Edinburgh where you are most welcome to visit. inspect and test drive the car. we have our own ramp and Robb our mechanic who looks after all our cars will be happy to talk anyone over the car. although there is no longer any requirement to MOT the cars. we will supply the car with a fresh MOT for the new owners peace of mind. car is sold without warranty and we strongly advise any purchaser to satisfy themselves as to the condition of the car

The only thing of note for any future keeper are a leak from the fluid flywheel. this requires topping up once every couple of months

Please note we will not sell to anyone who intends to use this car for hire or reward within a 100 mileage radius of our base nr Edinburgh for up to 2 years and will require an agreement to that effect.
