1970 Opel 1900

For sale by owner is this 1970 Opel GT.

This is a great example of the car in both looks and performance. A super fun car for the canyons, or just around town. Original appearances have been maintained with some modern upgrades for a sportier and safer drive.

I have owned this car for 12 years, unfortunately I am moving out of state without a way to store it. I hope to have someone else love it as much as I do.

Exterior:

Engine and transmission are original, upgraded dual barrel Weber carburetor has been replaced in the last year and tuned. Brakes have been recently upgraded to larger discs in front (bigger drums in back) including a new master cylinder and larger booster to match. They now have a great, modern feel. The bigger brakes necessitated new wheels to fit, which are spoke-style Rota wheels and Nitto NT05 tires with less than 500 miles. Suspension upgrades include sports-style 1" lowered front and rear springs, Koni yellow shocks, and rear sway bar. Front sway bar is on hand but not installed, can include with purchase if desired. Exhaust has been re-hung with new tubing, tips and muffler from the muffler back to the rear. Headlights have been changed to black Sunpie LEDs. Electric fuel pump conversion has been made for easier starts. Battery replaced July 2021.

Interior:

Retro-style radio with aux cord has been added, no cuts made to the original instrument panel. Two "new" speakers in rear (circa 2010). Interior upholstery overhauled in original style, both seats, carpets, A-pillar, and dashboard have all been professionally redone and are like new. Dash was vacuum-formed per stock styling at JustDashes and is in near-perfect shape, unlike the ones with severe cracking seen on most of these cars. Wood steering wheel is new and Euro-style from Opel GT Source. New weather-stripping all around and shift boot to address rubber wear.

Issues:

Re-paint was done by a previous owner, along with poor touch-ups. Rest of the paint is in good condition, but touch up areas need work as described and shown in images. Other issues include missing antenna, speedometer needle wobble at low speeds, and non-functional windshield sprayer foot pump. Otherwise systems work well.

Records:

Recent service records have been retained and will be supplied at purchase if desired. They include the aforementioned carburetor work, brake work, alignment, etc.
