This 1923 Packard Single 6 Touring is a beautifully restored, pre-war luxury American automobile that fits in nicely with any collection. By the early 20s, Packard Motor Company had established itself as one of the preeminent luxury car marques in the United States, in line with Cadillac and the other "3P" brands of Pierce-Arrow and Peerless. Packards were the favorite automobile of royalty, celebrities, and the business elite, and Packards were known for their elevated look, mechanical reliability, and overall quality. It is no wonder that Packard trademarked the phrase "Ask the Man Who Owns One." By 1923, Packard offered 5 models on their 126" wheelbase plus another 3 models on the elongated 133" wheelbase. This particular antique Packard is believed to have underwent a complete frame-off restoration in the mid-eighties and was kept in various museum-quality collections ever since. Under the hood on this '23 Packard is a 268.4 Cubic Inch L-Head Straight 6 Cylinder engine with a single barrel Packard-Updraft with Fuelizer Carburetor. This Single 6 Packard is equipped with a 3 Speed Manual Transmission with a Floor-Mounted Shifter, which was standard equipment in 1923. This 1923 Packard also features a rear-mounted continental kit with a beige canvas cover. The tan canvas convertible top, along with the matching boot and continental kit cover, are all in wonderful condition and they give this classic Packard an elevated, luxury look. The exterior on this Packard Touring Car has been refinished in a beautiful Red over Black two-tone color scheme, which makes this '23 truly stand out in a crowd. This Packard sits on color-matched upgraded disc wheels, which cost a whopping $35 back in 1923, and give this Touring Phaeton an elevated exterior look. The interior on this 1923 Single 6 Packard is absolutely stunning. The front and rear bench seats have been recovered in tan leather, as well as the door panels, all of which are in fantastic shape. The wooden steering wheel and dash are in their stock configuration, with the dash housing a drum-style speedometer, amp gauge, oil pressure gauge, Waltham clock, trip meter, and odometer. Whether you're a big time pre-war Packard collector, or you'd like to be one, this 1923 Packard Single 6 Touring is the car for you. Give us a call today!
