Details, details, details! It´s all about details…DRG Classics Corp brings to the public this spectacular example that shows how a beautiful design can become a masterpiece just highlighting some specific details and using noble materials such as stainless steel, superior quality leather and real walnut burl.Tons of adaptations was applied to achieve a better handling stability and gorgeous appearance without compromising the original appeal of one of the most desirable muscle cars ever made. The 1971 Plymouth `Cuda. The color is the astonishing “Lime Light” also known as “Sublime” with touches in red topped with an elegant Vinyl top applied by one of the best and traditional upholstery masters in South Florida Don Lanier from Don´s Auto Trim & Upholstery. The hood reveals at its very center “The Shaker”! A nosy protuberance painted in rugged Black Organisol that gives the car a very elegant silhouette and helps the engine breathe. The center fin of its grille is painted in red just like the front grille of the car giving them a subtle hint of joy.At the other end of the car seats the original rear spoiler wing also painted in Black Organisol. The rims, 18” at rear and 17” in front, are “American Racing” painted in black chrome. The beautiful and unique side billboards were designed and custom made in house with the best rugged material. All accessories possible were added like road lamps, fender side lights, front side spoilers, rocker panel trims, wheel opening trims among others. All front-end suspension is brand new including polyurethane bushings, tubular upper control arms, reinforced sway bar and tie rod adjusting sleeves painted in Hemi Orange, same color of the brand-new “Gas-A-Just” shock absorbers made in Japan. Steering box was upgraded to a 16:1 rate gear to make steering more comfortable. The engine, painted in Hemi Orange, is a 1976 Mopar Performance Big Block 400 Cubic Inch Displacement prepared to achieve up to 600 hp installed by the talented Bruce Thompson from Thompson Auto and upgraded with a FiTech fuel injection system #30005 with the control display panel hidden inside the glove box.According to specialists this engine is the best choice if you want to get high numbers in Horse Power because of the huge amount of material its block has. Andy Finkbeiner says in arengineering.com that “The 400 block makes a great foundation for a serious street motor. Available from 1972 through 1978 in Chrysler´s bigger cars, it developed a reputation as a dog of a motor due to the low compression and lean burn system.” Maybe that´s why John McGann described in hotrod.com how Brian Hafliger of IMM Engine and Dyno got a “Hemi Power Engine at Half the Cost from a Chrysler 400 B-series.” The radiator was upgraded for an aluminum 4 rows from “Champion” covered with a stainless-steel fan shroud custom made by “Solinox” and completed with a 16 in 3000 cfm electric fan. Engine bay is full of chrome details. The firewall was covered up with black heat and sound deadener. High-performance racing Hooker header exhausts complete this elephantine propulsion. To stop this humongous power unit, brake system was upgraded to Wildwood disc brakes in all four wheels with beautiful silver lettered red calipers. Transmission is a Torquelift 727 with an automatic racing 3 speed pistol grip shifter. Internally the seats were covered with red stitched real leather with details in red backed perforated leather sewed by “Servitech”. Rear tray and sail panels are also covered with the same red backed perforated leather used on the seats. The dashboard, steering column and other details were painted in “black stainless steel”. The Rim Blow steering wheel and shifter handle were hand carved in Brazil by an Amazonian artist using a Brazilian hardwood called “Black Heart” and Russian valuable Walnut Burl. The dash cluster bezel and center console bezel were covered by the same artist with Walnut burl veneer. The former is ornated with stainless steel trims painted in “Just Silver”. They were finished by David Sedota from Riverland Refinishing Co. Dash board and center console are brand new. The door and rear panels, bucket seat back panels and the under-dash trim were well restored with soft black vinyl embellished with custom-made stainless-steel trims. All floor including trunk was treated, painted and finally covered with quality heat and sound deadener. The radio is a very rare 8-Track original AM restored and working but not wired. This is an originally air conditioning car but the A/C is not installed. It also has a restored A/C heater but it´s not wired. The shifter boot is a piece of art completely developed and assembled in house. Most parts as internal door handles and door sill plates are painted in “Just Silver”.All apparent screws and bolts were substituted by Security Torx head ones for safety and embellishment. The car is absolutely 100% rust free. Carpet is as brand new as the red stitched `Cuda inscription mats. The pistol grip automatic shifter is a B&M with a 2008 Dodge Challenger Hurst handle adapted on top of it.Definitely this car is a Beauty and a Beast at the same time so make yourself a favor and bring this “Sublime Beast” to adorn your garage and make everybody in your neighborhood envy before I change my mind!!!
