1971 Triumph TR6 150bhp RHD

This is the 1971 Earls Court Motor Show car

Documentation shows the early history of this car as well as photographs at the actual show. where it was fitted with a white hardtop.  The records also show that it had a category 'A' finish as it was due to be exhibited at the show. I am told that this means that it had a 'higher quality' paint finish etc.

Full MOT - no advisories

working overdrive on 2nd 3rd and 4th

Thanks for looking at this classic British motorcar.

This particular example was manufactured on 27th September 1971 and is the first of the 1972 models. The chassis number being CP/75001-0 and the engine number CP/75003-HE.

Back to the actual car. It was originally white and apparently had an extensive chassis off rebuild 12-15years ago. There is evidence of the original white paintwork behind the pedals

I have MOT's and history going back to 1984. The mileage then was 64. 00 and is now only 86. 00 having only covered 600 miles in the last 18 years. The engine is still the original one with the correct number and I have a receipt for new shells. bearings and oil pump.

I have a large file of receipts and bills for the car. Recent expenditure in the last 200 miles include

* New Bosch fuel pump

*New metering unit. injectors and hoses

*Lunemition ignition leads

*EBC grooved brake discs

*Uprated starter motor

*minilite style alloys and new tyres

The car. prior to my ownership. had been dry stored since the last MOT in 2007. where it passed with no advisories. With the help of a new heavy duty battery the car fired back into life and sounds magnificent.   Gearbox and clutch seem very nice.

The car drives very nicely and is very responsive.

Looking at the car. the bodywork is excellent. It has the appeal of a car that has been restored very well some years previously. The paintwork has an excellent finish. The engine bay is a different shade of red but the engine bay is very clean and tidy.

The TR6 has a lovely interior. The seats are excellent as are the door panels. The wooden dashboard is also very nice and even the glove box light illuminates. It has a CD player with speakers behind the drivers seat on the rear floor so no ungainly speaker holes. It has a carpet which is not the best quality but has no wear on it. The white hood is good but has a repair to a small tear (not really noticeable)

This TR6 really ticks all the boxes. It is tax exempt. genuine RHD and a CP 150BHP model.

I buy and sell classic cars. mainly Triumphs. This is one of the nicest  examples I have seen. It is however 42 years old and will need 'tinkering' with as time goes on. So viewing is encouraged and it is a trade sale.
